Points for rank
like a lot of people, I'm striving to get a good officer's rank. We know that you have to play 75+ games and have won 50 of them to qualify for the officers rank but you must also have gained enough points.
It's earning these points that I'm learning more about and would really appreciate people's thoughts on.
We know that you earn 5 points for winning around, 1 point for staying alive, 2 points for a kill, -2 for team kill, -2 for suicide etc etc. But the amount of points you gain or lose within a game is determined by several other factors, they are:
1) If you win or lose a game by a large margin (i.e. 6 - 0)
2) If you leave a game after you've started you will lose 15 points - I'd like to know if this is the case though and if the points you've gained/lost within that game count
3) You're will gain more points (win or lose) if you play against a team who have a combined higher points tally. So, if you have a load of 'gold bars' on your team, the likelyhood is that they will all have minus points but most probably be experienced players. It will mean that your team is collectively 'weak' in the eye of the ranking system and therefore you stand to earn a much high amount of points if you win or lose the game. Again, confirmation of this point would be really helpful.
4) Friendly fire games yeild higher points - but I don't know how many?
Does anyone know at what point have you officially join a game. The reason for asking this is because if you join a game in the latter stages and your team are heavily losing, you might be able to leave the game with no penalty if you have not actually played. Again, clarification of this would be good.
Thoughts on these points and ideally an explanation of the formula nehind the ranking system would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers
