Even if we do change our uses of energy the price of everything is just going to shave itself off 30 - 50 % this is how it's going to be be and it's going to get worse. We're all Fat and Hungover on Oil, the party's over.

We're killing many birds with one stone with this.

    1. No more insane prices for gas
    2. Oil company CEOs go away and no longer steal our money
    3. People stop complaining about how much we suck for helping global warming
    4. People start walking or riding bikes places and our country isn't as fat anymore
    5. No more traffic

There is plenty of gas left and it will last 10x more than 4 years. The major problem is that if we will be able to obtain that oil seeing how a lot of the oil is in Russia and other contries that don't like to share.

They like to share, it just so happens that they hate everyone.

Maybe if so many people didn't call them commie b@st@rds, they wouldn't have so many hurt feelings.

Also I would like to point out that a switch to vegetable oil does not necessarily mean the oil companies will stop screwing us over. They will find a way to screw us over and make it $3-4 a gallon. Also oil is used in a lot more things than just gas. Switching to veggie oil would definitely cut down our oil usage, but not completely eliminate it.

Sorry, just had to make some points.

In 40 years they might have a new source of fuel. I would rather have 40 more years of development and planning of a new fuel than just 4 years.

It seems as though we need gas to run out. Nobody is pushing for cleaner, renewable fuels, and nobody will until we absolutely need it.

Gas prices should be like the rest of the world which is like $6 more then we pay. IMO Americans are basically getting a steal on gas. The world as a whole has done such a ****** job with oil consumption which is just sad.

IMO gas prices are gauged on how the economy works for any given country. If Gas was 6 Bucks a Gallon here.....no one would go anywhere, no one would buy anything because everything would be 4 times as expensive as it is now because of the Transportation costs to deliver goods and products all over the USA.

Uhh, no. It is NOT like 6 bucks more in the rest of the world. How about them African countries? They have it for around 75 US Cents a gallon. Yeah. I might just move there.

Raising the gas prices to higher marks than normal is illegal in some states. Like Michigan for instance, they can't raise the price more than a certain amount in a given time or the gas station owner will be fined heavely. Honestly, do you really want $7 or $8 a gallon? I have a job here, and I wouldn't be able to afford to get there if it was that much.
