socom ps2 or ps3

what do u think will be stronger. People playing socom games on the ps2 or people playing socom games on the ps3? I personally think that socom gaming will still be strong on the ps2 for a long time.

I have to disagree with you. First off, many people will continue to play Socom 3/CA for a substantial time after Socom: Confrontation is released. However, the great majority of these people will do so simply because they do not own a PS3. In contrast, to the reason why some people still play Socom 2 which is lasting appeal. Socom 3 and Combined Assault simply do not have the staying power and those who own a PS3 will make the move to the newer offerings of the Socom franchise as son as they are available.

Yes, that is a very true statement. I am sure many hardcore Socom fans who do not have the financial means to purchase a PS3 will have no choice but to play Socom 3/CA until and if Sony implements a price decrease.

Lol i bought a ps3 as soon as i seen the video of crossroads :P

and as far as it goes, i think there will still be a large amount of people playing socom2, but 3 will pretty much drop off the map. Just due to the fact that Sony/Zipper droped the ball so badly on it. Im assumimg that most people will migrate towards confrontation, and away from 3/ca, the ones who dont like confrontation will go straight back to 2, and forget they owned 3/ca. Just because they lost all hope for the franchise, now im as 'hardcore' a fan as anyone. But if confrontation doesnt do a whole hell alot of a better than 3/ca then i know i will be back on 2 for the remainder of the franchises entertainment value

my friend has a ps3 but doesnt like it just cuz the rumble feature isnt there anymore. i dont have one so i dont know if you can plug a ps2 controller into a ps3 slot or not :/

I think that Socom gaming will be stronger on PS2 than on PS3 because the PS3 is still way too expensive for it to be worth buying. And there aren't any games to back it up. When Socom Confrontation comes out, those lucky PS3 owners will play it and tell us if it's worth the buy. Then if the price has lowered on the PS3 and Confrontation is as good as it looks Socom will be PS3 strong.
