Thats taking it way to far. Yes there are some moronic rappers out there with even more moronic fans, but you cant blame a style of music for that.

ok. that came off wrong. so his death didnt KILL rock. but up until the early 90s, rock was the most heard music on the radio and on tv. since his death, there has been a slow decline and now all i hear on the radio is rap, r&b, and older rock music. the rap and r&b is played more than modern rock. and still, most newer stuff i hear is very generic and all sounds the same.
dont get me wrong, there are plenty of good bands. just mainstream rock used to take talent to make. now its just some emo kids in tight pants playing 4 chords and it gets the recognition that the musicians with talent should be receiving.

Elvis stole all his music, it was a good thing he died.

I think something has been completely overlooked here: The gross and wanton commercialization of music.
Artists today are now groomed, labled and packaged towards the demographic with the most expendable cash. It's all about product and profit.
Nearly long gone are bands and music that stood for something, that made a statement, and didn't change it's mind about it to go with the next week's trend.
Seeing things like American Idol and $80 concert tickets makes me want to puke. Watching people constantly buy into it disgusts me further.

The most I've ever spent on a ticket was Pink Floyd ,and the most I would ever spend on a ticket again would be Pink Floyd. When Pigs Fly, of Course
Prices of concert T's disgust me , especially when you can go home and get them for 25 % cheaper online.

Amen to that.
It's one thing if it's a shirt they're only selling at the concert, or if it has the tour dates on it. Other than that, I usually won't look twice.

Damn friggin straight with the selling out of the music industry. Ticketmaster and scalping has to be one of the worst things for music and it's all due to the gross commercialization.
As for Floyd, me and a friend have a pact to spend up to $1,000 to see them if and when the pigs decide to fly one more time. Thank the maker that I was able to catch Waters last year twice.
