Kurt Cobain's death didn't impact rock music outside of Nirvana. If you think that it killed rock music, you've missed a lot.

For the worst thing to happen to music: whatever it was that made new rock. The best new rock songs are boring and the entire genre uses the same whiney and useless singer.

Another thing that slipped my mind was rap. Any type of rap has ruined music, especially today's rap. It was not music in the beginning, it is not music now, it will not be music in the future.

With the death of lead singer/song writer, Ronnie Van Zandt (along with other members of the band), the band was never the same and their wonderful music died with them.
Actually, I did. Haha.

Courtney Love.
Cobain WAS murdered. The angle of the gunshot would have been too severe for Cobain to handle sober and he would have had to take off his shoe and use his toe to pull the trigger. Both shoes were still on. The amount of heroin in his system would have been enough to completely sedate even someone who has built up a steady tolerance to the drug. The note he left seemed more like a note proclaiming he was leaving Courtney Love than a suicide note. Cobain met with his lawyer days before asking him to draft up a will without Courtney because he planned to leave her. The evidence all points to murder. Besides, except for that incident in Rome he was never suicidal. And Rome is even debatable.

How can you say rap isn't music? Some of these guys have more lyrical talent than 95% of the rock artists today. There isn't one person on this planet that could rhyme with Talib, Rhymefest, KRS-One, Aesop Rock, Qtip, Murs.

That's just a few, and TUPAC influenced music more than anybody. Not one single death has caused so much drama, and change in the music.

I have to say Vanilla Ice.. In my own opinion he was the person who made the white kids want to be black.. He was the reason you see all these white kids running around with flat billed hats speaking the same way the black fellas are just to be cool.. then future took its course... thats just my opinion.

In Your Opinion.

I've been listening to Music Heavily ( All Kinds ) for coming up on 30 Years and to hear you say Tupac contributed more than anybody is flat out ignorant. Sure he made his contribution to music but to influence it more than anybody...No Way. To say that no-one elses death had cause so much drama only applies to what ever short life you've lived on this Earth.

I can't stand The Beatles , all of them, as a group, and all of their solo efforts but I cannot , and dare not say that their music has not been some of the most influential to the music . But they didn't influence everything.

Hmm Im not sure about this one for me. If Syd hadn't gone all crazy they would have never brought in David Gilmour and Roger Waters would have never became the dominate songwriter. Piper is a great album, but I prefer their 70's stuff more, but thats just me.

What about Lennon. Lennon was an international symbol of peace, when he was shot that brought not just music industry but the world to its knees. He was larger then rock and roll and music itself. Im sure Tupac's death had large impact in the world of Hip Hop, but I don't think it transended anywhere else.

Thank you.....I feel that today's rap has definitely put a damper on today's music industry, regardless of the other types of genres out there. Today's rap does nothing but influence society in a negative way like I mentioned earlier. Music is not ruined forever, but it definitely has a tainted image because of rap.

If you think all of music has a tainted image because of a few retarded rappers that people seem to like, thats like saying all Muslims are terrorist.

I can't believe people would even say one genre has ruined or even tainted the whole industry, I would never say anything like that about anything you guys listen to.
