nah, Pretty much the end of the grumbling 3 riff music that they put out. His mother should have swallowed him when she had the chance.

Wow, that was so wrong in so many ways, but it's funny as hell.

Can you two maybe give a little more reason behind these statements. I know you guys are entitled to your opinons, but Im just curious. I mean Cyclone how can a complete genre of music ruin society? It definatley influences it, but doesn't control it. And Allstar when you can't even spell the bands name correctly, how can you say they have ruined music. I think both of yours are just for pure spite, and thats not why I created this thread.

Since I didn't really put any reason behind mine either Ill do that now.

The deaths of those musicians obviously were all a negative impact on the music business. They were all legends for the own reasons, and most of thier deaths were ends to great bands.

In my opinon even MTV in its early days was bad. Ive never liked the idea of watching a video for music, Ive always felt you should be able to see somthing on your own in your head, and not need the aid of a video. To this day the only music videos I can really enjoy is one of the band/artist performing.

In the 80's Glam Metal was the dominate genre of music, and to me gave metal a bad name. I feel that when a band focuses more time on their hair and makeup more then their actual songs, that it shouldn't be considered music. Though the 80's had some pretty awesome bands, it was a major step down from the 60-70's atleast in my opinion.

Elvis

This guy single handedly stole the blues from people that had every right to be "blue" and watered it down so rhythmless honkies could scream and attempt to dance. So this was great for talentless crackers but a sad time for the true fathers of the genre.

Nirvana was simply the worst band ever, period. With music that was so f'in depressing, I see why Kurt shot himself.

I just don't like the fact that people automatically blame rap for violence. RAP, you guys listen to rap, I listen to hip hop. Where verses are so complex and mean so much that I don't think there's one rock writer that could contend with todays best lyricist....

Cobain was murded. Nirvana was one of, if not the greatest alternative rock band in history to date. Being unable to determine what words are being spoken and complexity are not uniform. John Lennon shits on any lyrics in any rap or hip-hop song, even though I love a lot of rap and hip-hop from certain artists.

That was my 4 setence rebuttle.

Anyway.

Yoko Ono.
Lennon's murder.
Syd Barret leaves Pink Floyd.
Jim Morrisson's death.
Lynyrd Skynyrd's plane crash.
Bonham's death.
Eddie Van Halen's Ego/Roth leaving Van Halen.
Courtney Love.

QFT. No one put more meaning into his songs then Lennon, and I will go to the grave believing that. He stood for somthing he believed in, to the point where he was being alienated from his fans by it.

I never hated on rap, yeah Cyclone did, but those bands/artists you posted were just out of spite except for Nirvana I guess.

Nah, I've never liked Zeppelin or who ever it is.

I do appreciate John Lennon, My favorite artist Talib Kweli said Lennon was a huge impact on his lyrics.

I just don't see how Cobain changed music so much.

No, he wasn't.

I can't beleive no one said the plane crash that ended one of the greatest bands...Lynyrd Skynyrd.

With the death of lead singer/song writer, Ronnie Van Zandt (along with other members of the band), the band was never the same and their wonderful music died with them.

No they weren't. Nirvana is actually one of the greatest bands ever, maybe you should just stop talking now. I'd rather listen to Nirvana any day than that thump bump **** you call music.

After I read this post I think you're completely out of your mind. Led Zeppelin is one of the greatest rock bands to ever have performed on this planet. Jimi Hendrix.. How was he horrible? And the tight pant wearing ****.. If they've ruined music so much how come people actually listen to them?

My opinion:

Chris Cornell leaving Audioslave
Rage Against the Machine breakup
