The Question of All Questions!
Okay, I am going to buy a PS3. The question(s) that remain are what's holding me back from buying one right now. - Should I sell my 360 and games to pay towards/for it?
- If so, should I keep my PS2 for travel so I don't have to lug my PS3 around?
- Should I trade in my PS2 and get the $100 towards a PS3 at EB and keep my 360 as well?
Basically, I've got a PS2 and a 360 now. I want to end up with at least a PS3. I want some opinions on how I should end up, those are the ways I see it, but I'm sure there are other ways I could end up.....
Right now I'm leaning towards getting rid of the 360 and all games and keeping the PS2. I figure a Premium 360 plus 2 controllers, and 7 games + Guitar Hero can bring me some solid cash. But at the same time, I do really like Halo and I did pay for a year of Xbox Live I'd hate to waste that by only using half of it.... I am really leaning towards PS3 because Halo 3 is about the only game I won't find on PS3 that I want. I'm 99% sure that I won't be missing out on any other games that I would really want to play.
So give me some feedback. Like I said, right now I'm leaning towards selling the 360 and keeping the PS2, but I just want to hear some opinions and hear if I might be missing out on something that could sway my mind.

I personally think chosing a PS3 over Halo 3 is the best way to go. If there isn't anything else on the 360 that interests you then for sure sell the 360. That one game isn't worth a whole system in my opinion. People are annoying on Halo so you don't have to listen to that anymore.
But hell, if you really don't need a PS2, then get rid of that aswell. The PS3 upconverts PS1 and PS2 games to 720p and 1080p, so playing the games on that would be better. But, remember, not every game as of right now will work on the PS3. So, I would suggest that also, unless traveling around with a PS3 would be too much of a hassle.
If you trade in your 360 premium, 2 controllers, 7 games, guitar hero, PS2, Ps2 controllers, mabie some games. Hell, the whole PS3 would probably be paid off lol.
But I would defenitly suggest getting rid of the 360 if you really dont have much of a reason to keep it anymore. That will pay off a lot of the PS3 right there. The PS2 is optional, it is more convenient to travel around compared to the PS3.
If you plan on doing this through gamestop, then beware! Gamestop's seem to be xbox fanboy stores. I know this from personal experiences and online stories I read. They might get upset if you trade in a 360 for a PS3. But anyways. You will get $250 for the 360 alone. 7 games, gosh, depending on what they are you might get anywhere from 100-150. With guitar hero being what mabie 40 dollars, I don't know. I don't know exactly how much you will get, I am just making stupid estimates. 100 for the PS2, mabie some controllers/games. You will get between 500-600 dollars if you trade it all in. Probably around 400 for the 360 stuff alone.

100 for the ps2? Are you on meth? EB's takes $30 top. I triend EB, Gamestop, Rhino's, Katos, and the most I got was 33 bucks and some change.
They may be diff in the conn, but I dont see 70 dollars different

No... bob's right. But good to see that you think someone is on meth when you don't believe what they say.
They were offering $100 in trade in until the end of May on the PS2 for PS3 trade in. I "cashed in" on this offer... how could you not trade in an old P.O.S. like the PS2 for $100 in trade credit??? You'd be a fool not to...
(I have no idea if they still have this offer going, though.)
If you ask me, I think trading in the old stuff is the way to go. You already have the 360... why not keep it? By the end of the year, there will be plenty of great games to play on both the 360 and PS3.
^^ Just my opinion, of course. ^^

I agree with everthing Creep says.
Last week I traded in:
C&C 3 Tiberium Wars (360) New Game
Tiger Wood 07 (360)
Saint's Row (360)
Resistance Fall of Man (PS3)
Oblivion ( PS3) New Game
for the 120 Gig Hard Drive and I still had to pay a 100 dollar difference. I never announce my intentions when I do trade in to the EB Goons.
I would definetly take advantage of the PS2 trade in.
I don't see me playing my PS3 at all until they get PS3 Home up and running. Except when I rent R6V on the PS3 and GRAW2 to see the differences. The 360 will offer me plenty of entertainment until then. I would keep the 360 and do the trade ins and save some coin here & there, if at all possible. I thought about selling my PS3 because what I have & play on the 360 is too much fun in itself. But I won't because I know I would regret selling my PS3 at some point, the same as you might possibly feel if you sold your 360.
Whatever you do I would give it some serious thought if you haven't already.

Now I don't own a PS3 or a 360, but if I were in your situation, I would keep the 360, and trade in the PS2, especially if you're saying you can get $100 for an out-dated and inferior system. If you are holding onto the PS2 for a particualr game or two, chances are it will be playable on the PS3 (I forgot if Sony said all PS2 games would be playable on the PS3 or only a select few). If you go this route, you will have two next-generation consoles, which will give you a variety of games to choose from, rather than just a PS3, and a PS2 which will eventually go out of "style."

I too think you should keep the 360, but maybe you should sell a few of those games when you sell your PS2 just for a little bit of extra cash. Its nice to have a 360, just because of games like Halo that are a nice change-of-pace from Socom (not that the people that play either game are any different though)

As of now, the PS3 is ****. Resistance online has been ruined by noobs, and there have been a total of like 3 or 4 decent games released after launch, all of them already on the X360 except motorstorm.
R6V and GRAW2 are already on the PS3, so you don't have them to look forward to really. End of summer is when the PS3 games should really pick up with MGS4 and the likes. Actually, that's november

get rid of the ps2 and your 360 (but only once the xbox live is up). if youre only playing the xbox for one game and paying $40 a year, its not worth keeping. but finish what youve paid for then get the ps3.
thats what id do.

You could say the same thing about the 360. No good games until the end of the summer. So, he is stuck either way.
