Friends that died

I just had a really good friend of mine lose his life this morning. He was out with his friends at about 2 AM EDT, when his Chevy Trailblazer didn't turn a corner and rammed into a building. The Driver, was drunk at the time.

ABC12.com: Teen dies in early morning crash

A link to the local news story and video on it.

I know everyone has had a friend die, but with only being 18 years old, it amazes me that he made this choice.

I had a fellow teammate (played varsity) and his girlfriend die in a crash just over a year ago. All of them were drunk, about three times the legal limit. The driver lost control and hit a tree. The scene was gruesome, my teammate could only be identified by the picture in his wallet. The person driving is now facing 15 years in prison.

My brother's friend was also killed nearly two years ago. He was drinking at a party in his cousin's house. He went up stairs and two ****ing **g***s followed him up, robbed him, kicked the **** out of him, and then threw him out a 3 story building. One "person" is now in prison for 70 years for murder and the other is on trial. The sad thing about this ia that he didn't die instantly. He was found by someone walking to their car still alive. He was rushed to the hospital. He had bleeding to the brain and would be a vegetable for the rest of his life. His parents made a tough call by pulling the plug.

My neighbor committed suicide when I was sophomore in high school (I just graduated). I was one of his closest friends and it was probably the most awful year of my young life. He drove his car like 70mph into the post of a stoplight and died instantly. It's hard to think that he's been gone this already.

My cousins best friend died last month.

My cousin was playing some DDR with him and his friend had a stroke, was sent to the hospital, had a second one.

Only 20% of his brain was left after the second, and he eventually died.

I met the guy two, a week before it happened...was a really charismatic energetic person, and a week later he's dead.

Sorry to hear about all the deaths here to btw, may they all R.I.P.

The closest thing to having a friend die was my dog. And that sucked big time.

I don't think i can imagine what it's like to lose an actual person though (well, I lost my grandma, but surprisingly I wasn't affected). Anyway, sorry to hear about your losses.

I have to say that a lot of my friends have died in the 3 years I have lived over here.

A guy I knew in school called Shamus was killed in a car accident. He was walking home and his friend stopped to give him a ride, this friend actually stole the car and he eventually got into a chase with the cops and crashed into a sign post; the post went right through my friend's chest killing him instantly and the driver (17 years old) was sentenced for involutary manslaughter and got less than 1 year in jail. He was 14 years old.

One of my friends in middle school (England equivelent at least) died of meningitus aged 9.

Right after I moved here my brother's friend (mine too) died in his sleep. Apparantly he had an unknown heart condition. Age 18.

A guy my mom and dad used to work with (family friend) had a heart attack at work 2 weeks ago and died. 2 days before, he had a minor one but he told his wife not to call an ambulance. Aged late 50's?

And finally a guy I used to know (sister's old "boyfriend") was killed on his dirtbike, a drunk driver knocked him off it but the bike wasn't street legal so there wasn't really anything come of it except he died. Aged 16.

It does feel bad to lose so many people you know, but it's sad to say that it's become a common occurance for me recently.

R.I.P everyone. (Including everyone you guys lost)

This year I lost a friend to a car crash. Five kids in a Scion TC, 70mph....tree. Four died, one lived but was in ICU for a couple weeks.

It hurts when you lose someone, but it gets better in time.

Not to be a ****...

But it never gets better. You only get used to it.

Yeah, I had a few people in my clique die. All because of shootings.

Sanjay - Standing on a street corner, (Bussing & Baychester), when 3 people came up to him and demanded some things... He handed it over, and made a smart comment. One of them (the shooter, everyone knew him as "Mike Murder") walked right up to him, and shot him in the face. Age 16

Ronaldy - Went to a party, wore the wrong clothes (even though he wasn't in the gang), and some kids started a fight with him (they were looking for trouble). He beat this one kid badly, broke his nose, and then the kid's friend came up behind his back and unloaded 4 rounds in him. Age 17

Chris - Tried to rob a drug-dealer in the Edenwald projects. Let him off, and when he turned to run with the cash, the dealer shot Chris in the leg. Chris ran into the building, and the dealer chased him down, and shot him. Age 21

Just to name a few...

sorry to hear about that.

death is so predominant in our modern world, that ive become used to it. some kid that all my friends knew jumped off the ben franklin bridge after running from the cops for stealing a car. everyone was really upset and i couldnt figure out why. the way i see it: everyone dies at some point, just some sooner than others.

i feel bad for their friends and family because thats one less person they knew, but i never feel bad for the person who died. it was their time. god has a plan.
