Global warming, climate change, call it what you will. It is happening and is effecting us all in a different way. Soon enough, we will have even bigger problems to deal with. Hurricane Katrina and Rita were just small examples of what can happen when the ocean warms.
To human knowledge today, this rise in temperature is caused by greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide. Carbon dioxide is produced when a hydrocarbon (such as octane, which is what gives gasoline its power) is burned with unlimited oxygen. The simple solution, when looking at combustibles, is hydrogen. Hydrogen produces nothing but water when burned. But, then there is the problem of producing hydrogen to fulfill the world demand for fuel.
There is also the issue of conservation. In America, this doesn't seem too likely, since every automobile industry in this nation keeps advertising their "more meaty" pickup trucks and their "extended, full-size SUVs." Why do we need these things? Why are most large vehicles on the road occupied by only one person? Why do people drive way more than they need to? Why is our public transportation decades behind other countries?
These are all important questions to ask. But, the most important question to ask is- When are we going to do something about this? The answer (hopefully) is now. There are millions of people around the world pushing for action on global warming.
And look, even Bush is agreeing with them.

If he holds true to his word, then the world will begin to progress out of the chasm that global warming and greenhouse gases have us trapped in. Hopefully, with a world effort, we can overcome global warming and restore the world to the great state that it once was.
Discuss further. Argue if you are too stubborn to believe in global warming. Please discuss this in an educated manner, though. Think before you type. Contribute and keep it an intelligent discussion.
