The bias against PS3

People leave PS3s on for months without turning them off. From constantly playing them, and the remainder of the time it is Folding. No problems there.

You can't leave a 360 on for a day.

I believe the reason people hate on the PS3 is for many reasons.

1) It's has the lowest sales right now. It may be selling better than the PS1/PS2 did in the same timeframe, but it's still selling the worst.

2) The price is high and out of reach for the average customer. And there aren't many games to justify the purchase itself.

3) Sony promised us the world with the PS3, and thus far, has only given us a small country. This may change with time, but most people aren't patient (lucky for me, I am).

4) It's the latest trend to hate on Sony, so the rest of the sheep follow suit.

5) Then there are no doubt some that fear that the PS3 may eventually overtake their precious system (sales and market share), and for some odd reason, it would break their heart to see that. So they just put down everything Sony does to make themselves feel more secure.

6) Then there's the fear of cool things coming out for the PS3 (Home, LBP, and MGS4 to name a few), and they want them, and if they can't have them (multiplatform), they want them to fail.

7) Then there's just @ssholes out there that just want to see Sony fail just for the hell of it. They aren't scared, they just want to rub it in Sony fan's faces.

Well, that's my take on why people keep hating on the PS3 and Sony. I might be right, I might be wrong. All I know is that I typed alot of stuff and it makes me look smart.

I think the xbox fanboys are just feeling good right now just because they have more sales then PS3, while last gen, they were getting destroyed by the PS2 sales (that are actually still rising).

PS2 as of late has actually been outselling the 360 in some months.

I think Sony has this holiday season in the bag though, for sure. They will get the most hype and will sell the most consoles. 360 will just steadily decline and get less and less, the 360 is wearing down, it cant handle the pressure of the BAZILLION Wiis sold and the very very promising future of the PS3.

Sony is going to dominate this holiday season, and the 2008 year, when they have the 100 dollar price cut (You all know it will eventually come). The games that are coming out later this year, and the Home system, 360 doesn't have a chance. The sales would look pretty identical but switched if PS3 came out on the market first. A lot of people got the 360 just because they need the newest gen of consoles, and it was the only one out on the market. Now you see them talk more and more about the PS3.

While I was over at gametrailers, someone made a really good point. He said everyone on xbox 360 wants MGS4 to come to their console, but no hardcore PS3 fans want Halo 3, so whats better?

At IGN in the 360 lobby, someone made a thread asking if they actually wanted MGS4, and the results were surprising. Almost everyone that replied said no (they either didn't like it, or never played an MGS game), and the other few that said they wanted it was either so they could rub it in the Sony fans's faces or because they like MGS, but didn't like the PS3.

So about 80% said they didn't want it, then 10% wanted it just to gloat, then the other 10% wanted it to actually play it for fun.

This is one reason why I don't want it to go multi-platform (people want it to gloat, and it might not sell well). And because too many games going multi-platform (expecially big name games) takes the systems identity away. And then there's a little bit of that Sony fanboy in me that might cry if it went multi-platform (I'd cry inside, not the outside).

Heres a guy that discusses why people hate the ps3 so much (for no reason) and he shares the real "truth" behind the ps3 and why its better than the rest. His arguement is not biased, he makes some logical comments etc

check out the part two for this too (talk about how its unfair to compare ps3 games with 360 right now).

Its common sense but sadly some fanboys dont get it

mine has worked with the side vent pushed up against a wall. People say the PS3 breaks a lot but I have heard the more problems with the 360.

Well people have their facts mixed up.

PS3 does not break alot, it very very rarely breaks, if at all, most PS3s, even the launch ones are flawless.

I have never had my PS3 malfunction. Although my 360 randomly crashes and shuts off occasionally. It gave me a scare with 4 red lights.

Me to. the ONLY problem with my PS3 is that of my controllers is a little messed up. :( I don't have a 360 though.
