No sound in browsers :(

Not much else to it.... I just don't have any sound when browsing. i can hear anything that is streamed through Firefox.

Actually, I just tried IE, and nothing there either. So my guess is that it's a computer setting, since I don't have sound in either of the two. I always have, and haven't changed anything recently. I turned on the computer today, and there's no sound. Last night it was fine, now it's not.

Any ideas? It's rather annoying :\

There could be many possibilities to your problem, but I think the first thing to do is check if your computer speakers are pugged in

I'm listening to music right now, so I'd say that one is not the problem :)

Like I said, it seems to have just happened for no reason.....

Maybe check in your Control panel> Sound and audio devices settings.

Once again, I'll chime in with my "probably already is" quote Bob, but hey it worked last time! Have you checked under sound properties, is the MIDI player field empty at all? It should (obviously) be the same as the others.
Also, have you checked your event viewer? That might give you some insight into it. Start>Run>eventvwr Check through there and see if you have any audio related stuff. I'm also sure this isnt the case, and I'm sure you've already checked, but have you checked to be sure that on the volume control panel MIDI hasnt been muted etc.

Oh oh oh, wait, I think I might know... Try Start>Run>services.msc
Scroll down to Windows Audio... Under the "Status" sub heading it should say "Started", and under the "Startup Type" sub heading it should say "Automatic." I think this may actually most likely be your problem.
