Found this on Yahoo just now... I thought it was pretty interesting and would be a good idea to share.

It's only been two posts, it's not that bad. However, I never knew this but that's cool. I knew it was going to say loose weight due to the Wii. I never knew eye sight though...hmmmmm

Yeah, I thought they made your eyes bad as well. But maybe that's only if you play too close to the screen.

No, that's what develops your eyes. When playing SOCOM, most people typically scan around their screen looking for a target, mines, grenades, etc. It helps keep your focus up and sometimes improves your reaction times with your hands as well as your eyes.

Thats very interesting, I knew video games improved eyesight and helped people focus.

But once I seen the lose weight part, I was like there is no way in hell, but then I seen the part about
Quote:
Anyone who has been to a mall in the past five years has seen Konami's Dance Dance Revolution work its cardiovascular magic on unsuspecting teens, but state and school officials in the Appalachian state have upped the ante by partnering with Konami to put DDR machines in all 765 of its schools. School officials see it as an innovative way to engage kids in physical education, while the kids see it as, well, video games in school. Not exactly a hard sell.
But I still do not think they help us to understand classical literature, I have been playing video games since the NES was huge. I am currently reading Hamlet in school, and We are in like act 5 and I still have no ****ing clue as to what they are saying.

Same story with me, games got me into aincient Rome and Greece. My friend who was a big Hearts of Iron II fan knew everything about world war two because of this in depth strategy game. From politics to battles, straight up everything. Some games are good with actually teaching the person something.
