Pet Food Scare

My best friends Pitbull is sick as ...well a Dog. It was reported that an organic base called Melamine is what they suspect of being the reason why Cats and Dogs are getting sick and some Die . Dog and Cat foods containing WHEAT GLUTEN printed on the ingredient section on bags are the most suspect. Vets also suspect that this food may be coming from China. China ?
I just talked to my friend and his dog ( that is treated well and in good health, otherwise ) is not doing so hot.

All you guys check your pets food. I checked my Dogs food and their's contained Corn Gluten.

I beleive they may have found a treatment for the disease. I think it was a cancer treatment that strengthens the liver or somthing. I maybe wrong but thats what I remeber hearing on the news.

Thank God my dog is doing alright.

None of Canadian Tire's pet food was affected by this recall. \m/

I had to do community service this weekend at an animal shelter and actually had to dump alot of cat food. About 5 cases of 16 because of this. People should be able to be compensated for wasting money on food that kills your pet.

My friend's vet is said that his dog had all the symptoms of what the Dog Food has been causing. I thought it was all generally in the Northeast. But I also had no idea that the USA had it's Dog Food shipped from China.

I checked all my dog's food and treats last week.

Something they updated without really making it public is to throw away those Del Monte jerky treats, they are affected dogs also.

It's not the actual food coming from China, its the wheat.

They found traces of chemicals in the wheat that was shipped from there. The same chemicals used in the manufacturing process of plastics.

They thought it was rat poison at first, but it's plastics chemicals.

I am closely watching my dog because she puked all over the place last week. I think that may be due to my sister making he do backflips?

I am lucky that we don't feed out cat wet meat. We feed her Purina Dry food, indoor formula. That was not on the list, and I am really happy for that.

I too feed my dog purina dry food for "indoor dogs".

I didn't see it on the list buy I will take it out the minute that list changes.

My dog craps all over the place when we feed her wet food so we have only done it once. She does like peanut butter though.

I think some of the dogs affected are dying of kidney failure so if you dog has signs of kidney problems (don't know what they would be) then get it to a vet.

I dont know/care about the cats.

Excessive urinating is a sign of Kidney failure with doggies.
The Vets say to at this moment stay away from any food, wet or dry, that contains Wheat Gluten.

My suggestion to you all: Feed your pet a bar of 100% Baker's Chocolate. That will clear out all forms of wheat gluten that is possibly in their system and you will have one happy, dead dog on your hands.

For those that can't take a joke, don't do it.
