Are routers to blame?
I keep seeing people getting booted, and read about people get booted. I don't think I ever get booted from the game and the only reason I can up with is that people are getting disconnected because they play on the there routers connection. I'm hardlined into my surfboard modem and I never have a problem. The people that I know in my clan or my friends that use a router get booted all the time. I can't say this is why everyone has problems because who am I to say I know what I'm talking about. Thoughts?

before i used a router, i pluged my ethernet cord directly into the modem and i havent noticed a differance on the disconnects i've recieved. I rarely ever get an actual disconnect, but i get credit for them in 1 out of every 4 games or so. I think i have a total of 185 games played with 52 discs. Then on my other name, i have62 games, 5 discs. I dont really get it.

It's not your router or anyones router for that matter, Simply put, I can play BF2 of COD2 online without ever getting booted, but when I play SOCOM CA, I get booted repeatedly. Your network configuration does not change from game to game, it uses the same one. The Socom servers are forcing IP drops, why I dont know, but If Sony would actually respond to the issue maybe we would get somewhere but they have not, which to me means it's on there end.

I use a router and my disconnects are rather low. It seems ever since CA came out is when a lot of people have been getting booted so I'm guessing something between S3 and CA running together might be causing the dissconnects.

Its kinda obvious what they are trying to do, combat the lag switch with the ip drop ... ie. you timeout for more than a second or whatever and the drop your ip... It may not be a long enough timeout to actually boot you from the entire game, but just give you a disconnect.
These types of issues will always exsist on the ps2 imo because of the limited 8mb memory card & how much patch data can be stored on said card. So by doing "things" on there side to try to help a major aspect of gameplay(glitch & lag), a minor aspect now becomes flawed - like headshots, stats disconnects... and other statistical related information.
thank you
have a good day

I have a router and I do not have a problem at all. My connection is always solid, even when using two computers and the PS2 at the same time.

What's wrong with the tacos? Why do people compare this to other stuff? Why makes it special? I haven't eat tacos for 3 years. I might try to eat again. It's good though.
