Yeah I have the Hitachi 42' Plasma screen, and don't notice that much game lag at all. Now I realize plasma's aren't nearly as bad with game lag as LCD's.

Any of you out there using this particular TV, or even a plasma around the same type of size? If so what video settings do you have on your TV, as far as brightness, sharpness, contrast, color temp....etc.. I'm just trying to figure out what the best settings are as far as Plasmas are concerned with socom.

Maybe it is 42" but yes it is the Hitachi Ultravision but there are a couple of different models. He has the one with supposedly the best contrast ratio available for that size screen, I'll get the model # from him soon and post it. It has a button that washes the screen with bright white and removes any temporary burned in image, I was amazed the first time I saw it.

What are the positives and negatives of playing socom on a plasma, that you've found. Are the controls delayed at all? I'm just wondering because playing on a huge plasma seemed really weird to me. Now it could be that I"m used to playing on a 20' and haven't played for a good month or so. However, I just what to know what other people have experienced with plasmas and socom
you will "NOT" see a difference playing socom on a plasma or lcd ps2 does "NOT" support 1080i..i had my socom hooked up to my lcd it looked exactly the same when it was on my tube tv..as far as a delay in the controls i did'nt have any of those issues. any body that says it looks better on a plasma or lcd its all in your head.

one that could be the brand of the tv that you bought..second socom and ps2 dont work well with a lcd or plasma..

Yeah I realzie that it will look the same on the Plasma or LCD as it does with any other TV, I was just wondering if anyone messes with the video settings on their plasma's to try and get a better picture.

Yes, you will see a difference with an lcd tv. Go into the game options and set it up for 480p widescreen. This is how I've played Socom since I bought my lcd tv last year.

480p (progressive) looks much better than 480i (interlaced). It will only work if your PS2 is hooked up via component cables and you have changed your settings on both your PS2 config as well as Socom itself (480p and widescreen on). If you say you can't tell a difference between the two you are either lying, have it hooked up wrong or your TV is garbage. There is an extremely noticeable difference running the game at 480p, on widescreen, with acomponent connection on a HDTV. I have experienced it first hand and it is definitely worth it.
