I decided to start writing game reviews the other day because my hobby is writing and gaming... so i put them together. This seemed like a really good site to start posting reviews on games. The only problem is i havnt found a reviews section for just any games on any systems. I posted my reviews in the other systems section... but no one seems to be interested in reviews in that section. So i thought a review section would be nice so that people would come to that section for that specific thing and i would have more replies and critisism on my reviews.
Games can be found in each of the sub-sections for each system. Look for a game you want to write a review for and post it. If the game isn't there, make a topic for it. We have no need for a section dedicated for reviews as we already have the games in each section.

yes listen to what big daddy bamf is saying. that is the best way to go about it. im sure quite a few people would be interested in reading these reviews if well thought out and well written. so lets see what you can do.

Actually I think this would be a great idea. Its something DaKilla recommended before we switched over here to the new layout.
If it is setup correctly, I could only see it as a positive thing.
For instance :
"Member Game Reviews" (forum could be placed under the Miscellaneous section)
And the initial post (review) has to be atleast 1500 charactors long. This way we wouldnt have no 2 sentence reviews that nobody would care about. If its not atleast 1500 charactors long, the post would be deleted.
All the Member Game Reviews would be placed in one section..
"Zelda Review (Wii)" , "Gears of War Review (360) " , "Fall of Man Review (PS3) " , etc etc... If we get bigger down the road we could dedicate a section for each console. But one would be good enough for now.
This way if members want to see reviews from casual gamers like ourselves, (unlike Gamespot and IGN who occasionally get paid off) they can just click in that section and look for the game they want to know more about.
I could already see Creep going crazy with the grammar corrections if this section was made.
I like the big mans idea. That could be awsome, if the right care was taken in grammar, sentance structure and some decent writing...not something like, "I though it was good because you can do this and this and this and this... and then I fought the boss and then I beat him" and you get the idea of what I'm saying.
Well... if this idea is being concidered I feel that maybe do this on a week by week (or day by day) basis with one person giving a review. I think that they should sign up and then be told what day to have their review ready and posted on. This will ensure order and fairness to those who want to give a review.
Maybe also have proofreading moderators or special mods who are only in that area (so creep doesnt go bezerk)
I'd rather have a completely free system where anyone can post any review at any time. However, checks to keep grammar issues under control would be important.
Rather than anything strict and bureaucratic we should simply establish guidelines that your review should adhere to in order to receive any recognition as an actual review (as opposed to simply posting about the game).
A loose minimum length for the review, a standard for spelling and grammar (minor mistakes would be moderated, numerous glaring errors could get the review deleted (or at least not officially recognized), and minor mistakes that occur frequently enough may warrant a similar kind of punishment).
Since actually deleting the review based on quality would be harsh and unfair, a review forum should be established. Then any review not meeting the standards set would be moved from the review section to the game's section.

I like the idea of Proof-reading mods. It would stop Creep from going...
If people took the extra three to five seconds to proofread their posts before submitting them, I'd be so happy... it would be like a year round birthday present.

haha. Taking an extra two seconds even would help your emotions much better than ever.
Anyways, I wouldn't mind being a special mod for these sections. I personally think my grammar is alright and my posts are good enough for Creep's Standards. (Does that sound right, Creep's Standards?)
