I would have purchased a PS3 when it was released, but I didn't have a bulletproof vest to wear if I was to wait in line to buy one.
Besides, I still have my Xbox 360 to tide me over until it's "safe" (sarcasm) to purchase a PS3 in the future.

Being a former Sony fanboy myself, before seeing the light, I'd like to see this all end up being neck & neck between Xbox & 360.
I wouldn't mind getting a PS3 if it dropped about $150 in price, and if the online setup were better. With exclusive titles becomming less and less, it all comes down to multi-player in my world.

As of right now my PS3 sits. I saw 3 units sitting right on the shelf in Walmart yesterday, which surprised me. Resistance FOM is cool but definetly not the best shooter out there. From most of the Game reviews I've read, the motion sensitive controllers are receiving negative reviews or feedback. It's funny, but I probably have had my 360 since October and I already have close to a dozen games. Even though the 360 has been out for a year + , I've never amassed a collection of game for any system in that short of time.
There is going to have to be a game that is just hands down excellent and jaw dropping before spend hours on my PS3, which right now is a $600.00 console that I just play game demos on.

From what I know, if they're losing so much money per unit sold, then they won't lower the price for a while....
I'm saying 1-1 1/2 years.

Agreed, and this is a bad thing for them. By this time I believe MS will be on the verge of deploying a new console (they're already in R&D) for.
The list of mistakes that Sony made with the PS3 is simply too long. The only thing that can save them is a homerun of an exclusive game (MGS4? I think not), a price drop, and something to go horribly wrong for MS.
