Penguins can't fly.

The Aleutian Islands (the long extension of Alaska) drift farther away from the main land every year (a couple inches I believe).

On a compass, true north doesn't point directly at the North pole (same goes for true sout and the South pole).

And here's one of the most useful facts you'll ever hear. I like to chew on random stuff (TV remote, buttons, my shirts, backpacks [when I went to school], and of course pencils). Oh, and I also eat paper.

I read that in the Guinness Book of World Records a long time ago. It was in China so I wonder if it was during the one-child period. It'd be unfortunate if they used up their kid so early.

About RickTheRipper's compass fact: How is that bizarre? That's like the fun fact on Pud comics saying "the needle on a compass always points north." Duh!

It's bizarre because it's a 2nd-4th grade fact, and as we all know, most people don't pay attention in 2nd-4th grade.
