more tech difficulties

after not being able to join almost empty rooms
(figured how to fix that one)

now, exactly 3 seconds after entering a game and being in play, it freezes for 10 seconds exactly and goes to the very beginning screen...

"If you have downloaded a Socom 3 update from... blah blah fack blah"

anyone know how to fix this???? i just want to play the ****ing game

when i start up an online game (the actual gameplay), 3 seconds after it starts, the game freezes up for 10 seconds and then it turns black

THEN

the whole game resets as if you reset your PS2

either get a new disk or get a new ps2. idk what else to tell you. maybe you could try cleaning your ps2's eye, but i dont think that will do much. its worth a try tho.

i think cheesy has a guide on how to clean ypur ps2 around here somewhere but i cant find it

Clean your disk, it has nothing to with Zipper it's just your disk. Also if you have had big crosshairs this is also attributed to a dirty disk.

So once again CLEAN YOUR DISK!

just took a long hard look at the disk, everything is perfect, except for one little section wheres theres god who knows what on it, im just going to buy a new one since this bad boys not coming off

now i got a new diskc and a new headset since mine was broken

but now my headset is connected to the ps2 via USB port, but i cant use it or anything, the mic has no 'on/off' switch, and now its as if there isnt even a headset connnected, any ideas?

i think your only option is to buy a new playstation =(, or try bringing it to like gamestop or eb to get it repaired

I don't know what to tell you about the headset. It would be helpful to know so I have something to do this Saturday night, I hate Report Cards!

I think the problem is that you either got a different headset that doesent work for the PS2 so you gotta get one with the Playstation logo on it or that your router settings aren't up to par with the game. As many wise ones have already said, you got to clean your ps2 or get a new one. And yes it is zippers fault because one or two patches ago they made it so your ps2 restarts if your disk isnt being read fully. And dont say "they cant patch something to do with that" cause they did, I don't know but they did. So just look for ways to clean near the lasers that read the disc. Or you could search for how to fix a "disc read error."

The PS2 reseting if the disc isn't being read right seems like a logical thing to include in a patch....


The mic could be your router, or it could not be compatible with socom. Try playing single player and if it works then your router is screwed.

Its your disc or your lens on your PS2. I cleaned my lens when i had this problem and it fixed it. A clanmate of mine also had this troble and he got a new disc. So most likely its one of those two. Go here to clean your lens:

As for the mic thing, its probally just your router or your mic is not a USB mic.
