Google isn't going to ruin YouTube - it's already a hunking pile of crap.

YouTube might hurt Google, though; they've been losing money for their entire lifetime, and I don't see how Google is going to change that.

Combine that with the fact that most people use YouTube to watch "illegal" content (surely Google plans to remove that), it's slated to be a failure.

That being said, I think Google has something up it's sleeve, and it won't yet be the end. It's not impossible to make it better and make it useful, so we'll see what happens.

illegal content you mean like music videos, videos from like a dvd, tv shows and clips off videos.

because if they take that off youtube would turn into nothing.

I didn't think Google was going to buy YouTube. I figured they would use their own Google Video thing.
