Ohh... THOSE digital theaters! We have a couple over here. One is at the Science Center though and they only play stuff about Mt. Everest and crap. That's still a damn good idea to see 300 on Imax though... Do it!

I hope to see Children of Men this weekend...

I don't like how this film is being faithful to a comic strip rather than the historical event... there were 300 spartan hoplites at thermopylae but there were other greeks too... a lot of them withdrew half way through the battle but there were still at least a thousand other warriors standing alongside the spartans

But the working title is "Frank Miller's 300". It's supposed to be based upon the novel, not actual history. Maybe it'd be best to blame Miller for the movie's inconsistencies. I haven't read Miller's novel and I don't plan on reading it before or after I see the movie so I can't say how "true" his writing goes to reality or whether or not his work is actually blame-worthy in the first place.

The director of 300 is also in development for the movie adaptation for Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six due for release in 2008.

I agree. It's supposed to be a Fantasy Film. And indeed has Fantasy Style characters.
Sin City was based on Frank Miller's graphic novels, and that movie turned out pretty good.

That movie's already been made. The 300 Spartans was released in 1962, and follows history very closely.

My verdict still stands; Frank Miller's 300 is going to be amazing. I've been a Transformers fan since 1984, and despite the 7/4/07 release of the live-action TF movie, 300 is my most anticipated movie of 2007.

The only good Transformers cartoon was the original not the disasters that followed.

You're preaching to the choir here.

300 gets simultaneous release on IMAX, March 9th.

Greg Foster, Chairman and President of IMAX Filmed Entertainment. "Audiences that experience 300 in IMAX's immersive format will feel as if they were actually with the Spartans as this larger-than-life epic story unfolds."
