Best movie ever? I wouldn't even call it the best I've seen this year (Children of Men beats it easily). I don't see the attraction people have to this movie. Is it that you consider yourself an alpha male and all the killing gets you pumped up? The movie had a horrible plot and progression of events and was boring (not the fighting! the talking...), and because of that this isn't even a great movie. The fighting looked cool... so you have a visually pleasing piece of crap. Honestly if someone can argue to me the plot was good I would be suprised.

The depressant for this movie for me was the foolishness of me walking into it thinking it would be better than Miller's other Novel made into Movie; Sin City. CGI is old hat and the Norm now, like I've said earlier I've already seen most of this before and done better with.

The story was Fast Food while it relied heavily on the Special Effects.
I'm not slamming this movie , but unfortunatley it takes alot to impress me anymore, movie wise.

And Yes , It's a coin flip with Children of Men and 300 being the best movies of the year so far. But I now lean more towards COM because the story was fantastic.

You guys take it so seriously, its just a fun kill everything and see a bunch of blood movie. Not every single movie has to have a plot.

pretty good movie, even though i saw a bootlegged copy that sucked.

i'll buy it when it hits dvd, it'll be a good gun cleaning movie.

If you want to go see people get killed go search the internet for sick **** like that. To call a movie as a whole good it needs to have a plot. I'll agree the fight scenes were good, cool effects and beheadings, but the rest of the movie wasn't.

Entertaining movie. It wasn't really a great movie by my standards, it was cool though. I'd give it a 7-8ish/10, simply because it was some of the best pure entertainment I've come across in a while.

So I got 300 on dvd through my sisters boyfriend, and I think I've seen the movie like a dozen times now. The quality is good too amazingly. Originally I didn't think much of the movie, but now I just love it. I was reading Dionysus comments and I can't agree. When you think about it, this movie has a great story to it. The battle of Thermopolaye is one the most important battles ever historically because it impacted the philosophy of war. When you make the connection of old philosophy to modern philosophy of war it makes you think and I guess that's why I like this movie so much, not just for the whole idea of being a badass spartan. This movie is a lot smarter then some may think.
