Reaction To The Demo
I picked up my demo disk at EBGames last night, and thought I'd share some details from the demo. Keep in mind, it's a demo, so things could change between now and the actual game's release. - Binoculars work different. You switch to them, and then you go into them like you would go into scope. They move much more freely now, but to switch back to your weapons you have to press down to go out of them, and then hit your quickswitch. It'd be better if quickswitch took you right out of them.
- SR25 is a OSK in the demo.
- Bean-bag attachment was pretty much useless in the demo. It just knocks someone down as a shotgun blast does, but they get up pretty quickly and start firing.
- Shotgun attachment is useless in the demo. It does the same thing as the bean-bag attachment. You can shoot someone forever with it and they do not die.
- Orange smoke (maybe tear gas? it has a funny name to it that I haven't looked up yet *EDIT* It is oleoresin capsicum, which is pepper spray. I'll try shooting someone in the face with it. Probably Jester first.) attachment did absolutely nothing. You'd shoot a round, and sometimes when it hit the ground/person, there was a little cloud of orange smoke. Just a puff, that did nothing.
- The armor attachment is nice.
- The ammo pack is a good addition. You can use it five times I think, and it will give you a clip of ammo, and a grenade.
- Health packs: didn't use.
- Team AI: Still sucks. Jester, I hate him. He always blows your cover. At one point I put the whole fireteam on Fire At Will. We came up on a terrorist about 80m away, the team unloaded on the guy and never hit him. I sat there, and they eventually ran out of ammo, and still had not killed him.
- Enemy AI: Much better. It's real hard to sneak up on them. They see you the instant a part of you sticks out from cover. They still act a little goofy when you shoot & kill one from a distance, the others around him just run around all crazy like. In a firefight they're nasty though. They use cover, they try to flank. Snipers are a good addition too, and they don't miss too often.
- No usable vehicles in the demo.
- M79: Enjoy it offline, because you're never going to get to use this puppy online. When you're carrying the M79, you also have your handgun, and your rifle. That's 3 projectile weapons. The M79, which is a multiple grenade launcher, has the option of white & red smoke, HEs and M67s. You get 9 shots of the one you choose. It fires like a 203, and will single-handedly cause the most lag and grief in S:CA.
- Bugs: Ran into maybe three bugs. 1 was where I was running along, then everything went all technicolor and the game froze. Another was I ducked behind a tree in a firefight and then was stuck in the tree. I can't think of the other.
- Blood: There's no blood in the demo, which I hope doesn't mean that there will be no blood in S:CA. It's very difficult to tell when you're hitting a target when there's no blood coming out of them.
All in all I thought it was just par. All those beautiful screenshots/videos we're seeing have got to be off of some crazy hidef setup, because on my set this game is on level with S3.
I hope that the finished game is slightly better than the demo.

i agree with you, i think they took ai from our teammates (what little they had) and gave it to the enemy. you should try the health packs though their half way decent after your teammates get you in a firefight. i think you were wrong with the f303 (teargas) and the bean bag shot if you get withen the enemys veiwing range of the enemy and hit them in the chest with either one they will surrender and the bean bag is a nice non-violent way to hurt jester after he f***s up but other than that i agree with you. also if your intrested i found a way to get a little out of the map it doesnt show anything new and doesnt help you kill anybody but its kool
one last thing does it bother anyone else that when you takeout the crew around the "jeep" your team says "we have taken out a patrol headed your way" when they where clearly bad drivers and not going anywhere

Just a little FYI for all of you starting to get  about the non-lethal weapons, they won't be useable for online use. Non-lethals, armor, and medkits won't be useable for online use, but everything else is a go.

enemy AI is too good b/c you could go prone through thick grass and once you get in their field of view they start shooting buts its a good challenge. team ai is worse there is a new thing where you point your crosshairs at a enemy then hit L2 and it makes the team attack the target. I waited 5 minutes and the team just stood there shooting the snow then I actually started running in circles around the enemy and jester died and I got rifle butted and the terrorist was still alive... I really hope its not like that in the real game.

If the enemy AI is really as good as people are making them sound, then I wish that the SEAL team AI was half as smart as the enemy AI.
