Disconnected Cable?
I've been playing Socom 3 online for about four months now and I've had no problems, but just a couple days ago, I get an error where it says "Network Cable Disconnected". I checked my cable about 20 times and it's plugged fully into my ps2, and fully into my router like it was when it worked perfectly. I tried rebooting the router and ps2 and even changing slots on the back of the router and I still get the same issue. Is the cable damaged, or whats going on?

If your doing fast log-in, just let it sit and it will log in like normal. If you log in the long way, you'll have to blow out the ends of your cable, router, and PS2. If none of those work, get a new cable.

yes, when that sign comes up saying its disconnected just wait and you'll see the DNAS logo come up in the background like normal and it will then take you to the TOS.

most routers have a status lite that turns on next to the port when you connect somthing to it. Make sure the status lite next to the port you connected your ps2 to is on. ALso, have you tried cold starting the ps2? As in, turn it off, disconnect power, give it a moment, reconnect power and turn back up and try again. Also, confirm that other devices connected to your router can still access the internet.

I don't think it's a problom with his connections. I think it's more or less a bug with Socom. All the online games I play don't do this, with the exception of Socom 2 and Socom 3. It was really irritating in Socom 2, because you did have to restart it. In Socom 3 you can just wait it out.

Yeah, I tried blowing in the ends and in the ports, and it worked for a little bit, but then it stopped working again. The light does come on on the router WHEN it works, but that's only when it's working. Like if I were to plug the cable into the router, the light doesnt come on instantly. It only comes on whenever my DNAS screen comes up. I might just try a new cable

Make sure the following lights are flashing (Indicates transfering of data, When it's solid, it's not doing anything.)
Modem
- Power (Exempt from the solid/flashing rule)
- Status
- Ethernet
Router
- Power (Same as ^^^)
- Status
- WAN
- The number port the PS2 is connected to (eg: mine is in #2, so #2 will be flashing when I'm going online)
Other things to check
- No visible damage to the cord.
- Major Kinks can damage it, so none of those either.
- No visible damage to the Straight Through Cable (Connects the Router to the modem.)
- No Visible Damage to the PS2's Ethernet Port.
- No Visible Damage to the Router or Modem.
Other things to try
- Replacing the Ethernet Cable.
- Replaceing the Straight Through Cable.
- Use the Router on something else to see if it is still working normally.
- Change to port the Ps2 is running through the router.
Good luck with these.
