Personally, I would have ran into the woods. i would have gone back to my house, told someone to call the Cops, and get them to my house ASAP.
Pat, I think you made a bad decision in not calling them, and what your parents were doing by not calling them after hearing their kid could have been killed I don't know. But as long as its all OK now, why carry it on?
Going to school and fighting the kid wont help. I would say its all over now, they had a bad comment, your friend pushed him, they scared the hell out of you. Everyone got what they wanted, it shouldn't carry on I don't think.
If you want it to all go away, just stay away from everyone involved for a few weeks, and all should be fine.
Of course I haven't got into anything like that and wouldn't know first hand, but when people were trying to set my house on fire because my mom was a single parent, we just called the cops and the guys got the idea after the second arrest.
Pat, no one will think any less of you if you call the Cops and tell them what happened. If you are going to do it though, do it now. They will have a hard time figuring out why you called them out a week later or something.
