FFXI Account Sold : $225
FFXI Currency Sold : $75
WoW First Account Sold : $175
WoW Second Account Sold : $150
WoW Total Currency Sold : $125
I kept my 3rd WoW account just incase I want to play the Burning Crusade expansion. I could probably get around $300 realistically for it considering gear/currency/location, but I think I will want to pop in for a few weeks to play for fun.
For those who think I play these games religiously, it doesn't take much to get a character or two to 60 in WoW which those first two accounts are. Earning currency in the game is simple and people pay a lot of money to save time farming for such currency. In addition, the FFXI account had a lot of stuff and a lot of time which was basically the only game I truely got completely addicted to (but luckily over a summer not during school).
People are lazy and terrible at games. Easy market to take advantage of. The designers say it is a bad thing, but it is simple economics having nothing to do with the game really. Someone wants something, but doesn't know how or doesn't have time to do it. The person who can provide that service can make a good chunk of money. The Jap farmers in these games are ridiculed, but they make a crap load of money for playing games. Seems like the life to me, haha.
