Ipod music transfer question
I'm going to college and all my music is on my itunes at home and my school is giving me a laptop without all that music. I was wondering if there is a program or a way to transfer the music on my ipod to my new laptop?

Afraid their isn't. You could always use an external harddrive or something, but no, there isn't a way to put music from iPod -> new computer.

Lmao, I'm not sure how it works exactly but yeah, you save everything onto that...then bring it to your laptop, plug it in, and save your music on your laptop.

I didn't look at the link Ninja posted, but if you change the settings for the iPod to work as an external drive, you can access everything on it...
I'm not sure if Windows or MacOSX will let you see all the files or not, but I know I can easily mount it and take all the files off under Linux. Either way, connect the iPod to your current computer and check to see if there's an option anywhere in iTunes to allow you to use your iPod as an external harddrive. If you can, you should be able to access the files on the iPod directly, as it'll be mounted on your desktop (OSX or some Linux flavors) or in "My Computer" (Windows).

As DK said, I would assume it would appear as a drive in your computer once connected via USB port. Plug it in and connect it. Go into "My Computer" for windows and locate the USB drive which just appeared. For me it would be Drive: F but it may be different for other people. Access the drive and you should see the file containing all your MP3, Image, and Video files just like you would when accessing a simple external device such as a flash drive or external hard drive. Just copy and paste the files into your computer and there you go.

I'm going to store all my music on an External Hard drive anyway just in case I ever lose my Pod or it gets whiped out. My friend whose currently out of town till Saturday is going to show me how to do it when he gets back. He knows exactly what to do. I'd try it myself, but if I erased 4,500 songs and all the time I spent downloading , I'd have to be put under suicide watch.
