Wireless Router question...opinons please

i am contemplating when i move to ditch the hard line internet connection and go with a wireless router to connect to PS2 online gaming for SOCOM III...

playing this game with a wireless connection, does anyone experience problems and/or do you not recommend a wireless connection for online gaming ?? (ie. lag, drop out etc..)

and if so, what wireless router works best for SOCOM III

feed back would be appreciated

I run wireless for my online gaming, but I still prefer being connected directly to my router.

As for equipment, I have a Linksys Wireless Gaming Adapter in my room, and a Linksys Wireless G Router with an extended range antenna. As for lag, unless your running T1 or T3, try not to be the host of a room. Sometimes the connectin will randomly drop, but it doesn't happen as often as it did when I had a B router.

What a moronic thing to say. So are you trying to imply that everyone on wireless lags? Your post makes no sense....

I have a netgear wireless G router. It works great with no lag. I have a comcast connection, which is good to start, and the router doesn't degrate my connection. I have had my neighbor connected playing SOCOM II and me playing SOCOM II at the same time. We didnt lag a bit. I also asked the whole room too.

yeah. pretty much. you may not lag on your screen but on peeps with an ethernet your frame rate is horrible. im not the first person to say this either so stfu.

More often than not, I'm moving around like a normal person, not lagging all over the place unless someone in my house starts DLing something.

So not all people with wireless lag all over the place.

Yeah I know alot of people with wireless routers who don't lag.

I use a buffalo wireless router and a wireless ethernet converter (also by buffalo) with good results. Paid $49 for the router and $79 for the ethernet converter at best buy. (btw, you have to set up the ethernet converter on a PC first then move it to the ps2)

wireless routers lag you off really bad..only do this if you have a T1 or T3 line....stay with the cable
