New version of WMP when streaming...

How do you update your WMP when you stream a video online... I have WMP version 10. When I stream, the WMP version is old. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Hmm... I don't think it will even show up on the Add/Remove Programs screen but double check just in case.

What I would do is just configure Windows Media Player Classic to not be your default media player. I don't have it on my computer but I think you'd probably need to go to View > Options > Format or something to that effect to make sure it is not set as the default player for whatever files you wish to play on the newer version. Then you should probably double check that the newer version IS set as the default for the video formats you wish to play.

Hope that does the trick let me know if it doesn't.

This is along the same lines...

When I stream a video in the new version, I can't find out how to save it. I spent a solid 5 minutes looking for the "save media as" that the older versions have had, yet I couldn't find it.

I'm expecting it to be something simple and obvious, and me having been foolish to miss it.

Anyone know how?

Right-click and select properties. Copy the URL and paste it into a new tab and Firefox will ask you how you want to download the file.
That's the only way that I can think of.

I can't find it... Darn, I check every option on Media Player Classic.
