SOCOM III Easy Lan Setup

This is just a repost of what I had for the SOCOM II site back when it was up.

For all you Killers out there who have 2 PS2's, SOCOM III, and TV's if you wanted to connect them for a LAN game, here is what worked for me. I have done this so that all my fellow Marines here in Morocco can have some practice before you hardcore players kill them online!!

1. Make sure you have your CAT5 CROSSOVER cable properly plugged
in the NETWORK ADAPTER.

2. Make sure that both PS2's have downloaded the "Patch", as if you had
just purchased the game and went online, save it to your memory
card.

3. On the MAIN MENU select the LAN feature, then EDIT SETTINGS and
then CREATE SETTING.

4. Then go to the IP ADDRESS portion of the set up screen and enter
the following for the 1st PS2:
IP ADDRESS: 10. 10. 10. 1
SUBNET MASK: 255. 255. 255. 0
ROUTER: 10. 10. 10. 1

5. The 2nd PS2's settings shoud be as follows:
IP ADDRESS: 10. 10. 10. 2
SUBNET MASK: 255. 255. 255. 0
ROUTER: 10. 10. 10. 2

6. To test the connection both PS2's must press X at the SAME time to
test the connection! It will then say it is successful!

7. Now all that is left is to create a game, load up, and send some rounds
down range!!

There you have it, real easy! Now remember what LtGen Chesty Puller
said, " You don't hurt em, if you dont hit em"

Marine702, over and out!

Umm... I don't THINK you need any settings for LAN...

I've only gone into it once though...

I remember this post from oh-so long ago. I wondered if someone had bumped the old thread or something.

Welcome back, Marine. As I recall, your post helped a lot of people back in the day.

On SOCOM III, you don't actually need to edit any settings. Just attempt to go online with your ONLINE settings and it shoud work great. Of course, this involves a router. So I guess if you don't have one, then this is perfect.
