QUESTION for the MODS/Fellow Socom Players
I would just like to know why the MODS don't delete accounts on here that don't have any posts, or haven't been logged on in some time, Doesn't it take up room? I personally only see a certain amount/group of Socom III Forum Members ever logged onto this Site, and a load of guests. I tried to find a friend today on the "MembersList", and I noticed a shyt-load of Members who haven't posted anything. It took me a couple of minutes to locate my buddy afterwards. So, MODS and whoever else that knows a simple answer to my question, hit me up please. Probably other people would like to know the same thing..

Last time it was asked I think the answer was that it doesn't really matter or make any difference.

Well, it's a bit unorthodox if you ask me. Why have people be able to have an access to something if they are not going to use it? Wouldn't it just be easier to boot them for People who are going to fulfill the needs of how to use the S3 Forums correctly, and throughly? But, whatever it's not up to me right? Thanks for your answer though Radio.

That list is a list of people ever signed up. It shouldn't be called a member list, but it just is. It pretty much doesn't matter whether or not the last time they were here was 3 years ago. It's the fact that if they decide to come back, they have their old name for them. Let's say you stopped using EBay for a year. Since you're not being devoted to the service, you're worthless now? Should they just delete everything because you just stopped using EBay? Now, you come back and realize that everything is gone.
Get the point?

Exactly, I've seen alot of people that have around 5 posts but they are members from way back when. They don't want to post but they want to read the information.

Well from my personal experience some new members might be scared to make a post so they just read and keep quiet. I signed up maybe after 2 weeks of just reading the forums and started posting a good while after I signed up.

When I first joined this site I didn't post for a long time, I was a newb with nothing of importance to add. Now when I think I have some info to help someone I'll put my 2 cents in.

You all have great ideas for why we keep them around, but the main reason is population. With each new member we get, we become more popular. It doesn't matter if 1 user stops posting. His being a registered member will help to earn 1 additional user who may start posting and so on. The more people we have, the more people we will retain. If we were a forum with only the mainstream posters it would be only a couple thousand members. We wouldn't retain as many new members or traffic to the forums without our large bank of registered members. It sounds sort of deceptive, but not really. You don't see any other of the larger forums removing their numbers. The more members you have, the more lucrative your forum becomes. Pretty simple concept.
We also want to strive to have the largest population possible of users who continue to help and contribute. With smaller forum numbers we wouldn't get as many chances to rope in such members.
