I changed to wireless and my Mic stopped working

I recently changed to a wireless router and my mic stopped working. I got on-line and checked all the "fix it" suggestions and nothing worked. I could get on-line and play but couldn't talk or hear. And what the hell is the point of playing this game if you can't use the mic.... right? So, I called my router company and my internet company and neither really new what was going on cause they were unfamiliar with the game. So I decided to try and figure it out on my own. I found out that my gaming adaptor was connecting to my neighbors network even after I installed it to my computer. Long story short.... I reinstalled the gaming adapter and got it to connect to my network. But I still couldn't talk. I tried changing the ports and all that BS. But after looking at the settings on my router I found out that My router ( an actiontek ) had a setting already made for playstation 2 that opens all the ports that PS2 uses. I checked the box and made a permanent IP address for my Gaming adaptor and now it works great. I am back in Action. Killing Seals....

So what you are saying is, you solved your own problem and you want to tell us how to do this for future reference?

Wow, your post was neither helpful, nor insightful. It seems like a simple slight against a new poster who got the courage up to create an account, and share some very useful information with the community.

Perhaps you may consider thinking before you post, and ask yourself 2 questions before doing so:

1) Am I helping the community in any way with my post?
2) Am I unnecessarily trying to hurt someones feelings?

I understand you are likely a child as many are on here, and may not yet grasp the finer art of polite conversation and behaviour, but you post does not add anything, or provide opinion on his post in any way. It simply comes off as rude.

Great post on Routers! The router website usually also walks you through all the steps and ports that must be opened for PS2.

Perhaps I have gotten tired, time after time, watching newly registered 'Socomers' post useless information. The topic title could be changed for one, and two, there was no question to answer or advice to give because the person who posted this topic answered the question himself. How am I supposed to privde information on a topic that does not need it? Yes, I may be one of those 14 year-old kids playing Socom, but understand this, I am one of the most forgiving members of this website and I will help even the ones who complain. Your post that was close to 'flaming' (since your close to being new, flaming is yelling/complaining to a poster in a topic, if you would like to flame, do it in a PM), not yet hitting it, so I will reconsider flaming you. My post was not intended to hurt anyone and was to teach you how not to word your posts. Read the first post and tell me, was their any evidence of that person needing help?

I always found bridging the modem easier than messing around with the router.

I have heard that playing socom on a wireless connection can be somewhat laggy because it is not using a network cable. I am a little curious if that has to do with the distance between your router and your ps2. Like could you not really notice a difference if they were right next to each other.
