In the year 2000 sony patend a software which could make media players (like game consols) not play rented, borowed, or used games. In other words, if a game was played on a ps3 that ps3 would be the only ps3 able to play that game. Whether or not Sony is going to use this technology, well no one knows yet.
They wont use it, that's retarded. That puts a lot of game renting companies out of business and screws with Sony's customers by not letting them play their games or friends games on different consoles.
That would be the worst thing sony could do. Ps3 wouldn't be bought and i will die off quickly. Like Mob said if you want to play at a friends house and he or she doesnt have that game you can't play it, It will be terrible if they did use this feature.
i've never really heard of this, all i've heard is that they hope the blu ray format will make it harder for people to pirate their games and they wont lose as much money as they are now.

I think that would be stupid, because the rental companies would have to buy a new game everytime someone wants to rent it. Also like everyone else said you cant let a friend borrow it or you cant sell it, etc.
