Earbud headphones to me are the worst idea in recent years. They hurt, the foam comes off easily, they always fall out, the cord is never long enough, and overall I just hate them. A little bit of better hearing isn't enough to get me to wear them, but whatever you want to do go for it.

I am not sure if its in your budget, but that is an easy problem to address. I just purchased a set of those earphones (noise repressors) for a trip I took. Earphones cost me $50 but the sound is phenomonel and the soft rubber covers for the earphones make it quite comfortable.

dude. purchase iPod headphones. theyre only $20. the cord is long and theyre so loud so you dont need to turn your cd player up. the only downside, they blow out after a year. but its worth it.
