I, on behalf of the socom3.com fake wannabe moderators union , would like to propose a change in the name of "quicksniping". Why?

Because there's three kinds of snipers... prone/crouch sniping in one place, right? And what is now known as quicksniping, as we're jumping in the air and giving pow pow for christmas... and what I call quick sniping, where you don't have to necessarily run around to map or stay in one spot, but whenever you're on the move and you see someone (or they see you) then you get on your scope and pow pow for chanukah...

When I snipe, I don't stay in one spot unless i'm truely outnumbered. But I just don't see the fun in getting a guy jumping in the air and get flamed in the greenup room. I like to see them run towards me with a F90 ablazin' and I stay still... they run side to side towards me and i stay still... then I time a headshot when he crosses... with no complaining about glitching or anything.

(Just to make things clear, I dont think it's a glitch and I think it takes some sort or skill to do it.)

Ask our clan, I jump sniped like 5 people today with an L96. I can snipe with an L96 too, but an M82 is more fun. Why? Because I can pull off better shots, I just think it's more fun not having to aim for the face. It's less effort.


My bottom line on the subject....

Quick sniping takes skill, you have to actually have a little skill at this horribly easy game to pull it off. Prone sniping can be done by any random idiot who bought the game 15 minutes ago. There's no skill in it, you can't argue that. You can call it a "strategy" like all the other terrible players that play this game, but it still takes no skill.

The four or five people that I've actually heard admit that and come out and say "Yeah, it's easy, that's the only way I get kills" are the people I respect. Other than that, it's just idiots and small children trying to achieve success through a video game.

Quick sniping is the most far fetched/un-realistic thing in a modern day 3rd person shooter. Who cares that socom isn't 100% realistic, there is nothing else on the level of stupidity and un-realisticness as quick sniping. You guys are comparing killing ants to killing humans.

With that said you people need to stop kidding yourself, Quick sniping does not take skill, just a certain amount of practise. Stop trying to make yourself feel like you have some godly skill. I learned in like 5 hours, it is easy as hell, nothing special. Prone sniping takes patients, stradigy and good eyes. It isn't just "omg guy on screen shoot 21 kills yay!!" You have to get inside your opponents head and think what there next move is, you have to find the right places to go at the right time. Any old guy can get a few kills by just normaly sniping it takes acual skills to exelle at it, un like quicksniping were you just have to learn how to do it and your good.

Also for god sake, We need to stop calling it quick sniping, it isn't sniping in the least bit.

yeah shut up. you think prone sniping takes skills. lmao! Like bob said someone who bought the game 15 minutes ago could do it. My brother who never plays video games could pick up a controler and do it. It is the only thing that takes skills on this game.

Actually, when I have time, I want to upload video my cousin had on his laptop from Iraq when he was out there. Videos of him and his rifleman breakdancing on a helipad after an operation. He also had a video of an Iraqi with an AK-47 running up to their convoy. He is a sick bastard, so he made a video out of it relating to his love for videogames. It show the Iraqi terrorist guy running up to the convoy, then he catches some M249 fire and drops. Then you hear a buzzer and "PWNED" flashes on the screen. So I guess that is kind of similar to doing something stupid like that.

As for quicksniping, it does take skill (and lag, can't forget the lag) along with fast fingers (lots of masturbation, yes?). But the one thing I can't stand is how most of the QSers I come across have a keyboard and start typing up on the screen "OMG, you guyz r such n00bs!!1! Get sum b@llz and leave ur bu$h1!!1 F*kin campin n00b @$$ pu$$y fruit cakes!!1! I AM SO 1337!!!" For the most part, they don't type all that, but that's what they mean. You guys (and gals I guess) need to understand that not everyone has the patience, reflexes, or time to learn how to quicksnipe. If they're gonna snipe you with a silenced SR-25 from a bush on the highest mountain while wearing a ghillie suit, deal with it. Stop saying that QSing is the one and only true way to snipe, because it's not.

So basically your saying you dont have patience to quick scope, but you have patience to camp? Quick Scoping is the easiest thing in this game, I dont even think it takes patience at all. Just go in a respawn for an hour and you will learn, thats how everyone does it. And thats why Socom 3 sucks.
