Gumball Rally
This movie is about an underground event taken place to protest the 55 mph nation-wide speed limit during the 1960s and 1970s. They race from New York, New York, to L.A., California without stopping (only for gas). The bulk of them arrive within 40 hours. I actually think I ruined part of the movie by telling you what it is about. The movie costs like $7 and you find out 15 minutes into the movie what it's about.
Go buy it now! Simply one of the best movies I've ever seen. Made in 1976, but it is digitally remastered. The sounds are all real, the actors did all their own stunts, and the cars are beautiful. Love the cars, especially the '66 shelby 427 AC cobra. It is also quite hilarious. It's just...amazing. Go rent it or buy it. If anyone has seen it leave comments.
Read up on some of it if you wish to. It is a fun read. Wikipedia is great.
There is actually a race across Europe (I believe) called the Gumball Rally or Gumball 3,000 or something like that where many people enter and have a race across the countries for 3,000 miles and the best time wins. It's an anual underground event I believe.

Correct. They got the idea from Gumball Rally. During the making of the movie there were recent strict traffic laws put into effect calling for a nation-wide 55 mph speed limit. Several underground events took place to protest the strict laws.

Only shipping  Maybe next time you suggest a movie, give a little description of what its about, or why you like it? Not post a picture of a car?

See something like that, doesnt really want to make me go see it...

I needed to purchase mine over the internet. No video stores carried it.
Damn well worth it, plus no tax online.

Besides, if you are a car nut (obviously not since you can't drive but mob understands ) you would buy the movie based on that alone. That side oiler shelby makes the hairs on my back stand up.
Anything else you must know...that you couldn't find in my posts mind you which had links to the information on the actual movie, the events which inspired the movie, and the events which were inspired BY the movie, send me a PM.

I love cars, but I didn't want to buy it simply because of the pictures. And I passed right over the links, because that's what I always do. If you had included a bit in the first post saying what you told Punx, that would have been nice.
Why? I bought the movie Bullitt simply for the chase scene between the Chevelle and the 68 Mustang. Not to mention it is the greatest car chase scene in any movie to date!

I'm not a car nut by any standard but even I wanted to see the movie based on the Cobra you had in your post. Who cares what it's about when it has that car? Hell, the thing doesn't even have to be in the movie as long as it's in the post endorsing the movie.

Uh, excuse me? Does Gone in 60 Seconds ring a bell? 40 minutes, 4 cities, 93 wrecked cars and one 1973 Mustang Mach 1. No sir, it does not get any better.

The car chase scene in Bullitt is better than Gone in 60 Seconds final car chase scene without a doubt. Of course I considered this movie when I thought about this but Bullitt just has it all! Besides, it was also voted best car chase scene as of today by a majority of movie enthusiasts.
Gone in 60 Seconds car chase scene was awesome as hell, but just not as awesome and Bullitt's.
PS: Bullitt uses a 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback GT390 and Gone is 60 Seconds uses a 1967 Shelby GT500. Where do you get a '73 Mach 1 from?

I totally agree, Bullitt was awesome, but I did enjoy Gone in 60 seconds quite a bit.

I loved the "Gumball" movie! And for that matter, all that have been mentioned. And I have another one, that I think is a classic, Vanishing Point. It's a story about a guy, who's trying to deliver a 70 Dodge Callanger across country. And of course, things go wrong.
As for the Gumball Corbra, I thought it was a 289. It's been a few years since I've seen it, so I could be wrong. Also, it wasn't a Chevelle in Bullett, it was a 68/69 Dodge Charger. If I remember my trivia right, the Mustang was a 390 w/4 speed. The Charger was a 427 4 speed.
First off...There is a real Gumball 3000 that was started in 1999 Maximillion Cooper from Great Britain. The entrance fee is (roughly) $75000 which includes 5-Star hotel accomodations, police escorts, private parties and car transportation to the host city. Each year is a different theme. In 2002, the race was a NYC to LA race that lasted over 7 days. This year is around the world 7 days.
Pre is without a doubt right. To see exactly what really goes on during these drving rallies get any one of the Mischief Series Made by Teckademics...
Secondly, mOBSCENE...
You are right, there is a 1967 Shelby Mustang GT500 in the REMAKE of
Gone in 60...Back in the Late '70s, the ORIGINAL GI60S used a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 with a 351 Windsor V8 engine...The 1967 shelby in the movie, I believe uses a V-12...
