Which of the two do you like more? I mean including the weight and all of the other aspects like sniping and having to switch to pistol when moving. I personally like SR-25 because of its capability of being sniped but M14 is cool because it can snipe and run and gun quite nicely.

I like the SR-25 because you can put a silencer on it, so that if you miss, the opponent will still be looking around for you, not knowing where you are. The only thing that helps with the M14 is that damn High Scope.

Theses guns really dont seem that comparable. I would say most people use them differently, for example, not many people run and gun with the SR, while many do with the M14.
It is hard to answer.

You know I never thought of this but wouldn't it be strategic to shoot next to a person if you thought he was there and kill him when he looked around but then again it might be better just to wait for them. This is while using SR-25.

Thumbs up

The SR25 because of the stealthyness of it no suppressors are available for the M14 and also it is alot more accurate. The red dot in the middle is great.

I would say that some guns are more gratifying to kill someone with than others. When you use the SR-25 with a silencer and plug some people I find it to be moore gratifying than if I shot someone with an M-14 with a scope.

That might be alright for some situations but remember that even though there is a silencer on it, it is the silencer 1. They will still be able to see what direction you're shooting from and you just gave your position away on a wasted shot.

I agree with Dionysus, you can't really compare the two because they are so different. I usually go with the SR-25, can't say I've ever used the M-14 in Socom 3. I tried the M-14 in Socom 1 and didn't like it because it wasn't all that accurate and manageable on full auto. I know they probably made a lot of improvements since then but that sort of stuck with me and I already have my selection of assault rifles picked out and I don't think I'm going to change them.

i dont use either for running and gunning. BUT, if i am in a map with the need to go full auto, but also the need to snipe. its the m14 without a doubt. usually this is in cruciable small, or kill fields small. otherwise its sr. i am die hard sniper. but i do play reg rooms with my clan.

This thread doesn't have a real answer.

Like, if you were on a farm you would have a dog... if you lived in the city with no backyard, have a cat. I'm not sure where I'm going with that one.

Eh, I think the M14 is a better all around gun. Its pretty much the same thing as the M16, only a little lighter and fully auto, plus it can have the bipod which can help a little, although I usually equip the rifle laser and the medium scope.

Its an effective running and gunning weapon and a pretty decent sniping weapon as well. The only advantage I see that the SR-25 has is the ability to be silenced and the fact that it has better range.

i dunno about that one, because for some odd reason i seem to believe the m14 sprays a little more than most guns. M16 has much better accuracy IMO. As for sniping, the SR has the advantage of silencing and range like you said, but for running and gunning, m14 wins it.... Wow, that was common sense now wasn't it lol.
