Hello everyone--
Being a long time player of Socom1 and Socom 2 i have fallen in love with the series, especially online. I love maps like desert glory and abandoned on S1 and Sujo on S2. I have yet to play Socom 3 online cause i didnt take my ps2 wit me when i came to school in the fall.
Im excited to start playing Socom 3 online. What is the good/bad about Socom 3 online compared to Socom 2? Are the maps better? What about the lag? Overall is S3 better?

There is less lag on S3,sometimes it will get a little laggy, but only on certain maps...The maps are WAY bigger and better. The online play is smoother. Overall, it is better...They took away/added some guns and such. Diff. characters...Totally diff. way better than S2!
one bad thing is that since you got 16 people on ur team (that parts not bad, this part is) you get to hear twice as much complaining, and it really gets annoying after awhile. dont let the whiners get to you though and try to brainwash you, IMO S3 is a much better game than S2.
Camping for 3 hours. You get a kill then run to spawn and camp. Crap
Hit detection honestly isn't improved that much, or maybe it's because every gun is like a 9mm sub on s2 accuracy-wise.
Sniping is so rediculously easy everyone does it and everyone is good at it, not like s2 where it took skill. It took the fun out of the game, since people are so prone to just ...well, prone in their spawn with a sniper.
Game has about 8 million bushes in total and people seem to think they're good/it's fun to sit in a random one with an SD and a guille suit and get 19 kills.
I could go on and on, like how you need a cc to do anything good on this game, or how laggy the framerate is on big maps still, it's as bad as bitter jungle.
But really, the hit detection isn't that much improved, sniper rifles long range ALWAYS take 2 ****ing hits for me, I nail them in the chest and they either fall over as if I nailed them with a shotty or I see a big *** blood spot on them in my scope and I have to shoot them again. Even with rifles people still take tremendous amounts of hits.
If someone lags in this game, they don't run in place then appear 15 ft away, they sort of "ice skate" all over, in the air...on the ground...w/e
Bottom line is hit detection still sucks

guns are so ****ing easy to use, everything is, EVERYONE is good and take smack
game takes no skill, it's all spraying

I love S3 a lot and there are plenty of good things like bigger levels, gun attachments, vehicles. I do miss some of the old maps, but the map packs will bring new ones plus some old ones back so ill say S3 is the way to go.
Overall I think Socom 3 is better than the others. The only problem is none of the old socom1/2 maps are availible for online play. (If you didnt already know that. Soon to change though with the map packs comming out)

The bad thing about bigger levels equals more walking, if you dont have a vehicle, but if you dont want to walk that much then you can play maps that are limited with players. So instead of playing with a total of 32 people in the room you can play with just 16 people which will make the maps smaller, if you want.

well i gotta say s3>s2...even though you gotta deal with alot of fhktards its still better than s2.
s2 is just a glitching fest with some m14's, idubs, and crazy lag...although i just play on it for gb. It's harder to be good at s2, but it's only good for playing w/ ppl you know or gb cuz the last time i played in a pub room, it was glitch fest in crossroads.
s3 glitching isn't that bad yet, there's no turrent glitch or anything like that, just some proxy glitching.
Well s3 is a lot easier than s2, but it's more fun cuz playing small maps is pretty much s2 w/ less lag and glitching. Too bad they don't have demo small maps.

dumbest things on socom: ghille suits, long ranged explosives, proning wh0r3s with sasr/sr-25 in the back of the spawn, and ppl who use skype...got owned by some garbage clan b/c of that bs
I hate when people complain about the game, the guns, etc. I love it. I played Socom 2 a lot and IMO Socom 3 defenitly wins. I just take the game as it is and enjoy it.
Yea sure it has it's weak points but overall this game rocks. Total weapon customation and I think the graphics are great. I hear people complain about snipers and it's like wtf. 1) There are not in every game. 2) You can make your own room without them. 3) Get some skill and jump around instead of just walking normally. [Or just stay away from their general location.] 4) Just pull out a sniper yourself and show 'em how its done.
So yea, to conclude. Ever game has complainers but if you get past that and decide for yourself you will like it a lot.

IMO s2 was way more fun online. Sometimes the lag and glitching got outta control but it was way more fun to play with ur friends and just have a good time. s3 is just boring to me and i cant get addicted to it like s2, I played s2 everyday for hours but since ive had s3 ive only played online for about the first week i had it and like 30 min a day. The gun mods and such r a great idea but the maps r boring and 2 big IMO. S2 had just a better feeling to it and I could play forever. Thats just my opinion

Exaclty its all opinion. Ive played all the games and while i liked some of the old maps i like S3 a lot better than the others. Everyone has their own opinion.
