Have you ever been behind bars?

Please describe how/why you were put behind bars if you have.

Twice for me.

1: I was having a party with some buds of mine. Then some drunk bitcg comes up to the apartment. I basically asked him to leave or get your *** beat. So he's just not leaving right? So after 5 mins of threatening him to get the f*ck out my friends start like calling me blank threats and chicken. So I did what any normal person would, (I wasn't really going to hit him but peer pressure got to me) I started beating the sh*t out of him. Then as I had him against the wall (He's laughin the whole time[I was laughin as I was beatin him]) a cop decides to come out of the car. He watched the whole time. Yeah so he said some bullcrap big huge word about whatever I was doing(cops use big words to confuse you!) so he cuffed me and I was in jail for 3 days before my buds bailed me.

2: Ok my friend is a cop. And he lets me do stuff he wouldn't normally let others do. So I see him patrollin the streets. So I decided to mess with him. So I like run behind him and like scare him right? Well he flinches and pops me right in the eye. The sh*t hurt real bad right? So I like hit him back angrily. He had a bad day I guess. He pulled out his beating stick and whapped me in the face. I'm out cold and I wake up behind bars. I get a 2 day jail. He finally let me go. Now we still best friends :)

Please, oh please tell me you don't think that's the sensible thing to do. I don't quite understand how that's anything like what a "normal" person would do. And if that's the case for "normal" Americans then, well, I feel sorry for you (collectively)*.

Once again, how does this line of reasoning make any sense? I think you deserved the beating he gave you... You started harassing him, he didn't know what was going on and hit in self defence. Then, after realizing he mistakenly hit you, his friend, you hit him back (after you initiated the fight in the first place). What's the man to do?

I'm glad you're still friends and I'm sure he enjoys laughing about how he knocked you out, but you're seriously 'not the sharpest crayon in the box'.

* Note: I also feel sorry for myself; I am American. I'm also disgusted by this type of behavior.

Never, was followed by a cop car once though.

Just out with my friends at 2 AM, you know normal stuff, going to the local supermarket to get drinks+food(he didn't have any at his place) and of course we all have our hoods on(not smart in retrospect) so we got followed slowly until we got to the store.

But yeah, I dunno what the hell is with you but I suppose you did the right thing if the guy wouldn't leave(assuming he walked in without invitation).

So what if you "beat" the **** out a drunk guy. You obviously aren't a good person and can't make your own decisions if you broke down to your friends making fun of you. If I were you, I would have left the drunk guy, and I would have beat the **** out of the people making fun of you. If they were truly your friends, they wouldn't have "pressured" you into doing anything at all.

As for me, I have never been jailed and I dont expect to in the near future.
