Why are the maps so.....unenjoyable?

Why are the maps so.....unenjoyable?

I have encountered a....logical reason the maps are so...*unenjoyable* in S3.
My certain answer for this is the multiple playability in the maps. When maps are designed for a certain reason, they tend to be better and have an exact purpose. They're totally designed around being a ____ map. Now they're about to ruin the new maps they're coming out with by making them multiple game type maps. It just keeps coming back to me as this is the reason of the maps not being fun. Walking 4 miles to extract hostages, because the map was built to be a convoy map....or whatever. I can't quite get at what I'm trying to say...but maybe you'll understand.

true, i would rather play *sarcastic* 20 billion maps with one mode each than just one map with a bunch of modes... i think most of the maps were made for one mode and just crammed the other modes into the maps.. so it's not like playing 50 maps but like.. 12 maps....

Yea I'd have to agree. Some maps just arent meant to support escort or say extraction modes. I'd actually prefer the maps to have only one type of mode cause it means modes like escort or extraction being played more rather than just supression or demo, and maps just being more fun. I don't think everyone has played every type of scenario on all the maps even after 4 months after release.

yea thats what i noticed. they should have set it up for the certain type. like convy a long line kinda of map and like hostage terr spawn is by a building and thats there spawn while seals spawn is like in front of the building and behind.

I disagree b/c if you feel this way then you can just play the map the way you like it. if and when crossroads comes out and you think breach might suck just dont play it its pretty simple. the variety helps make everyone happy. the reason why maps like shadowfalls didnt do well is b/c it sucked at night with the crappy night vision and it was SUPPRESSION but i feel if this map was demolition or extraction more people would have played it.

That's one of the reasons why I do not like this game...every map...suppression.

Atleast if you had one game type maps in S2 and joined a Breach Medley room, then you would play with people who like Breach,

Yea I agree that with all the modes availible for most maps, it leads to everyone being happy. The only problem is 90% of the rooms out there are supression or demo with some convoy/control. The good thing about socom 2 maps were that they forced you to play the mode on the certain map, which let modes like escort and extraction be sucessful. I bet most people would prefer foxhunt or Fishook to be supressions, but they just wouldnt be the same. In the end it was a smart move by zipper but its a shame that some modes are never played.

In defense of That everybody only plays suppression. My bro and I only play convoy and some jungle demolition. Which is quite a fun change from s2. I used to only play one map all day which was crossroads.
