Escort & Extract

Whats the difference between the two. Everytime i wanna play one i make it the oppisite. So whats the objective of esch of these.

Escort
-is when the Seals must bring at least 2 out of the 3 VIPS to the extraction zone without having all the VIPS killed... If you're a terrorist then you must eliminate all the VIPS

Extraction
-is just like a hostage situation... If you're a Seal then you must get the hostage from a house or a selected area where the Terrrorists are guarding...And basically if you're a Terrorist you got to kill all the Seals and keep them from being extracted

Extraction i believe is the seals have control of the hostages and the terrorists have to come and take them form the seals and bring them to one of the extraction zones.

Escort is the terrorist have control of the hostages and the seals have to eliminate the VIPS.

This is a guess but i think its right.........................

Well... I dont like escort its to one sided. The terrorist have the advantage. But escort is fun... Because its a little more equal.

Someone correct me if Im wrong because I have not played these since the second or third week socom 3 came out.

Depending on the map, the seals or terrorist have to escort/extract the hostages right? I know in socom 2 the seals had to escort/extract the hostages on all maps, but in socom 3 the terrorists also get to escort/extract the hostages. I think it depends on what map you are playing that determines which side escorts/extracts the hostages.

Yeah that was in Socom 2, remember most maps have a combination of suppression, escort, extraction, breach, and demolition built into them. Socom 2 only have 1 objective type per map.

Thats not what Im talking about. I know what was socom 2. Im talking socom 3 here. Let me try and explain it a little more clearly (remember this is socom 3!):

In socom 3, the seals get to extract hostages, and escort vips on set maps. For example the seals extract the hostages on Antenora. And escort the vips on some other map.

BUT, the thing that is new to socom 3 is the terrorist now have to extract the hostages as well. For example, on Storm Fron the terrorist move in and extratc the hostages instead of the SEALS.

So it depends on what map you play that determines if the terrorist or seals extract/escort the hostages. The SEALS ARE NOT the only ones that are extarct/escorting hostages. On some maps the seals escort/extract, and on other maps the terrorist extract/escort (this applies to all maps that are playable as extract/escort).

^^That is to clear up my previous post. If any one wants to verify that the terroriss can indeed extract/escort hostages, let me know. As I stated I have not played these modes in a long time. Do not flame, thank you!

Escort= Protect and extract the VIPs.

Extraction= Rescue and extract the HOSTAGEs.

Thats about the simplest way to explain it. Notice how escort has VIPs (who must be killed by the terrorists) and Extraction has Hostages (who must be rescued by the SEALs). In Escort, terrorists must kill VIPs for points. But in Extraction, death of the hostages is bad for either side.
