Should we petition Sony/Zipper for new release?

This thread will look at the level of interest in petitioning Sony/Zipper (I guess just Sony now that they own Zipper) to issue a new version of Socom 3 that is fully tested, and has all of the known issues worked out. Maybe it could even have some of our old favorite maps on it.

I, for one, would be perfectly willing to pony up some more dough to cover some of their costs in doing this.

I believe that the game was not really ready for release, and required more testing. I think that we (the public), raised our collective voices so loudly about the release date changes, that Sony felt there was no choice but to hurry up and release the game, so as not to turn their loyal customers over to Microsoft.

Please don't flame me. Other software publishers refine and re-release their titles when substantial flaws are discovered.

I am just wondering what the level of interest in a project such as this might be.

I know that Sony has tried via patches to address some of the issues that have been discovered, but the patches invariably seem to have a negative impact on gameplay

While I agree with much of your post....sadly I think that zipper will file any of our petitions, requests ect directly in the Microsoft outlook trashbin. Good luck, you have this Pedophiles support.

I dont see this happening. Sure it would be great to get some things fixed and I'd love to play some old maps, but this just sint practical.

sony/zipper should thoroughly inspect the online game play and fix the program directly instead of patches (the patches are getting pretty big and you pretty much need a dedicated memory card for Socom 2/3). Once the online gaming is corrected they can simply press a whole shitload of new discs and send them to gamestores on a spindle (sans packaging due to costs) where they can be traded for the old disc.

We pretty much did the research on online errors for them and it only costs a fraction of a penny to press a dvd. Overall they'd only be spending a few cents per customer that gave them $50 already.

Well put. It would cost the company tons of money to re do a game and put it back out on the market and everyone that has the game now would not want to go out and buy it again.

Don't Rush them to bring out anything new, let them take their time so they can fix anything they could of missed,
if we rush them they will most lilkey miss something which is very vital for socom

Ex: omgomgomg they forgot to put in guns Kartate CHOP!!!

Some of you have to understand that Zipper is only humans. They can only do so much. They have lives too you know.

I find it funny that people complain because they hear a door ****ing close, come on be serious just deal with it.

And for the glitches, there are glitches in every game you play. You see a glitcher just vote him out .ONly thing half of you people do is complain and say what it should have.

Zipper could be making new maps right now for all we know.Stuff take time.

I suppose I am been a little irrational here and thinking of conspiracies here but maybe Zipper/Sony meant to make their game not "to standards" so they can make money later when people like us complain to the extent of them having to make a new one which they will make even more money from. If this is true it deffianately didnt work because of all the dissapointed gamers who took the game back within the first week of having it.

Personally I'm satisfied with this game simply because I am very easily impressed due to the fact I played games such as Rainbow six and Black hawk down, so to be honest after playing them my game standards are pretty damn low
