Did Socom keep you loyal to Sony & the PS2?

If it wasnt for Metal Gear, Socom, Guilty Gear and Devil May Cry I would just have jumped immidietly to Xbox 360 for Halo, Dead or Alive series but again sony wins my war of consoles.

I don't have all the time to read this entire thread, but Mortal Kombat Dception is what made me even buy a PS2 Last Christmas. It was an OK game, but a friend convinced me to buy Socom 2 since he never really had anyone to play with online. One month later he got into a clan and got me in too, and it's been the highlight of my PS2 experience, with GOD OF WAR right behind.

i originally had an XBOX and soon after i bought a ps2 and went with the socom series.... since i started with socom 2 and now socom 3 i have never gone back to my XBOX it just sits in my house (yes i know it is a big waste)

If not for the Socom series, I was just about done with the Playstation 2.

I would have bought an X-Box by now for sure, but I won't even consider it as long as we have Socom.

Yes you are correct. The gun in the game that you could do that with was the xm-29 (it also had the airburst grenades). I can just imagine if that gun was in Socom, and all the noob threads on it LOL. :D

I had a loyalty to Sony and PS2 long before Socom1 came out. As a child of the 80's I also have a nostalgic place for Nintendo (the reasons I own a GC, PS2 and PSP) GC's are so cheap I had to get one just for Metroid, Zelda and RE4 (which of course crossed over) It was the infamous GTA3 that made me HAVE to have a PS2. Of course whenever I got a Socom game it dominated my time but I have the same obsessoin for the GTA series. God of War was also awesome, just another reason to be a PS2 owner

after my first ps2 broke down, i bought an xbox.. i loved paying for online and loved the amount of crappy games so i bought another ps2 and fell in love with socom.. there you have it

I had a PS1, got my first PS2 in 2001 and have had 3 since, I have also got a PSP, I was thinking about preordering the X-Box 360 way back when but then I heard about SOCOM 3 for the PS2 so I thought I would give it a try. SOCOM isnt really the reason why I like Sony or PS2 but its the reason I didnt get an X-Box 360, I dont think that makes sense but oh well.

I also had a gamecube for one day, never got it out of the box and then took it back and exchanged it for my first PS2, it was a confusing day
