Socom makes you want to join the SEALs or Special Forces?

I think Socom played a big roll into me wanting to join up with the Marines. Not so much SEALs because I don't really want to be a Navy boy (though Marines are a department of the Navy...Mens Department).

But yeah, any of you that go in SEALs, or any service beside the Navy, good luck.

I agree with the marines being the top. I would never join the military, but I am a historical enthusiast. Historically, the Marines are kick ***, because they were the first special forces. Revolutionary war, all they had was Boats and Fields, marines could operate on both. Their ranks grew into an entire branch. But they still remain the large scale quick reaction force, in under 48 hours we can get marines on the ground. Marines = Kick ***. Navy = Not cool 'cause you don't do anything (I'll get it for that comment). Army = Plain Lame. Spec Ops = So you're TRYING to get shot and left behind?

I Love playing socom cause its a fun way to blow sjit up and compete with real people rather than dumb AI. I would not join the military because todays military is employed to protect the intrest of the powerful and elite classes. they should be the ones fighting. These are the same people who endorse terrorism (eg shock and awe). it seams gloriouse and alluring, but thats what they want you to think, the reality is war is gruesome and destructive and the lives of thousands of innocent people have been destroyed. Not to mentioned that soilders are never the same after returing from battle, either physically or mentally. do not belive the mantra that todays wars are about protecting freedom or democracy. they are about protecting oil and privitisation goals of rich buisness intrests. would you die for some suits stock portfolio? im sorry if you would answer yes. I dont know if you guys know, but they are taking i think 10 Socom Online players and putting them through a Seal camp with real Seal's. I saw posts for it around the internet, but I am not shure if they will host it on the Discovery Channel or whatever, but that is what i think it would look like if half the people that post on this website will end up looking like if they go for the Navy Seals :).
