Here's the perspective from someone who is in the military and plays the game...

I can't believe you people are even trying to compare a damn video game to what people in the military go through so that your lazy asses can sit around and play these games.

To even think that someone would decide they wanted to join the SEALs because of this game is a ****ing joke. Do any of you even know what that **** is like? Didn't ****ing think so...

I have 3 good buddies that went to SWIC school (or to you civilians that know nothing, Green Beret/SF school) and they all said it was the hardest thing they have ever attempted to do in their entire life. Now granted, the SEALs training from what I have been told by people who have attended it is that they would say it is easier than SF school, but either way, for you people to sit and have a damn ****ing thread about this **** is a ****ing joke. Why don't you civilians leave keeping our country safe to the professionals who had or have the balls to join the military and quit ****ing dreaming...

This entire thread is a load of ****ing **** and I pray that it is locked soon...

As for you, not everybody that owns this game sits on their *** all day. Just because people own a video game console doesn't mean that they don't work out, aren't in shape, don't play sports, don't go outside, etc. All you're doing is poutting people down that may have dreams. People with dreams can pursue them for as long as they want, they dont need some shitbag trying to make them feel bad. I understand it is the hardest thing ever, but working for your goal is all you need to do. It's not like someone is going to say "NO YOU PLAYED VIDEO GAMES IN 8TH GRADE, NO BUDS FOR YOU!" I don't care who the **** you are, or who you're trying to be, but people have determination (word?) and can be whatever the hell they want to be.

No... the fact that working in sthealth operations with a bunch of people that joined from playing a game makes me want to suicide first before attempting to join.... beacuse you were weak minded to fall under the effects of the game games like this and America's army are just video games to be tools of recruitment.

In My opinion if u want to join the military after playin a war game then ur just weak minded like those lil kids that played gta sa and tagged up all the walls tryin to do stuff just like the game, a game is a game and real life is so much diffrent if u wanna join cus u always been intrested in joinin and not because u played a game all i got to say is good luck in acomplishing ur dreams. i wouldnt join military just cus of a game, i guess what u see around u inspires u like a family member or friend in the military.

I don't think I've heard anyone say "Yeah, I went down to the recruiter and joined cause SOCOM and America's Army are great games."

You join for love of the country, or college money, or all the other reasons, not a damn video game.
