DSL or CABLE Connection?

I'm currently about to jump back into the Socom world where i'll most likely remain except for the 40 hours of weekly Backbreaking Work in the real world and the few hours of sleep.
I played over 2-3 years with DSL and before that i lived where DSL / CABLE internet wasn't even heard of. I know that the connections varies bewteen different companies but all in all i was wondering for just the Gaming if there is a Better Pick bewteen Dsl or Cable? What you guys think>?

there are different speeds of dsl and cable is faster than all of them. however it can make a bigger difference in what company you go through. some have problems all the time and some rarely.

Cable is the best, thats what I have. MAybe if you only have dsl in your area, compare the speed of their top connections to cable or something. If they are about the same i really dont see why they would show a big difference.

WHen it comes to cable, Comcast is the fastest. They are 4 times faster than the fastest DSL. However, Comcast isn't that cheap. DSL is a fairly cheap broadband. But if money is not an option, I would get CABLE>

I use Road Runner which is ran by Brighthouse networks that we have down here in Florida and I think that the cable is great, I can run my PS2, 2 desktop computers, and a laptop all at the same time on the internet with no decreased speed. Im not too sure what DSL is because we dont have it in England or maybe its called somthing else but I have heard that Cable is better for gaming but thats just what they told me.

Also im not too good with the internet names in the US so can somone tell me the difference between cable and DSL plz?

cable has more bandwidth and typically higher speeds, though if you go w/ certain companies, you are in.. grids, I guess u can call them, and each grid gets a certain amount of bandwidth, so it can slow down if a lot of ppl have cable in ur area, but usually only if everyone has the same provider, so dont worry to much about it. A few ppl have high speed cable from comcast in my area, but I never get any slow downs at all, I usually average about 5mbs or greater. If you can chuck up 45-55 bucks a month then definitely go with cable.

from what i have noticed, cable is not much more expensive than the fast dsl, and still faster. i have a friend who gets the slowest dsl for like 15$ less than my cable and i think he is nutts.
