i dont know about you but i think crazy wizards, flying squirrels and the like are JUST VIOLENT!!!! your posting in an RPG/ Strategy section, do you honestly think that this is in the right area? lol i mean go to shooters and tell them that, but to answer your question wi think no, I think evyerone is capable of violent actions, to actually go through with say a violent action that person would have to have something in THEIR life that would make them do this. So, say i saw some guy ona video game (Postal 2 anyone?) shooting up his office, Im not going to go copy him. Why? because the news gives us real life Postal guys, i mean come on people who take video games literally shouldn't be playing games, or getting ideas from them? Again put in a mental instution, because apparently ttheya re not stable enough to live in society.
So basically what im saying is if video games are making people kill and be violent in general, what about the movies? They do a pretty damn goood job, but since the goverments prolly get something out of it they never speak of it. ****ing hillary clinton.

I think the people who do bad things because of video games, probably already had some kind of mental problem.
Then again, when it comes to things like Grand Theft Auto, I think some people do bad things and then just blame it on the video game to try to get out of the bad things they have done.
So... yes and no.

I think violence existed before the 1960's and the birth of video games...unless you think Pinball was the cause of World War II and Vietnam
Seriously though, people have been violent wayyyyyyyyyyyy before video games and because the games have guns, and blood and violence makes them an easy target.

PEOPLE ARE NATURALLY EVIL!!! There is violence and killings spanning over thousands of years. There is always going to be killings and violence even after we all grow old and die.
Now that that is out in the open I'll answer your question. No, video games do not make people hurt and kill other people. Killing and hurting each other is a choice regardless of what any psychologist, scholar, or politician may say.Unless your under some mind altering drug or drunk off your *** or possessed you always know what your doing. This whole blaming video games and movies is BS. You want undeniable proof that people are naturally evil? Just think for one single second about this....Where do people get the ideas for all these violent videogames, movies, new ways of killing each other be it guns, knives, bombs or whatever? FROM THEIR MINDS!!!
P.S. This SHOULD BE in the Off-Topic section.

Dude, this is why they call this "off topic discussion". Go in the off topic forums and look at how many have to do with online gaming, not many.

Just wondering, have any of you guys heard that there is now a therapy program for people who are addicted to VIDEO GAMES!? I know, I know it sounds like BS, but it is true. There apparently some people who have lost their relationships, their homes, etc from playing too many videogames!
Now I love videogames but that's ridiculous.
Talk about giving gamers a bad rap, not to mention all the ammunition it gives to some parents and advocacy groups that already have way too much to say about people and kids playing games!!
What's next?!!!!
