Burst Firing Mode

This pisses me off the most. I'm not sure if this is true in real-life gameplay, stop me if I'm wrong. But when you pull a trigger with burst firing mode on, should it not always fire 3 bullets? Now when you tap R1(tada the trigger) it only shoots 1 maybe(hardly) 2 bullets. The only way to make it fire 3 bullets on a burst mode is to hold the R1 button down. I hate the fact that I think I'm going to be wasting away my ammo at some SEAL/Terr but I'm only firing like what. 4 bullets when I want to down him with 8 - 12. (to make sure he's dead of course) This has bothered me for quite some time, if I wanted to fire 1 bullet, I'd put it on single-shot mode. Try to put positive or constructive criticism =P

No.

Single Fire = When the Trigger is depressed and released one round will be fired. When the trigger is depressed, and held, one round will be fired.

Burst Fire (Commonly three rounds) = When the trigger is depressed and released one round will be fired. When the trigger is depressed and held, commonly, three rounds will be fired.

Full Automatic Fire = When the trigger is depressed and released one round will be fired. When the trigger is depressed and held, the weapon will continue to fire until the trigger is released, or there is no more ammunition.

I find that if I use a gun on full auto mode, its difficult to get just one bullet to fire and it often kicks me out of scope view if I'm trying to 'snipe' with an assault rifle. Thats what bugs me most about the fire rates. If we could change the fire-rate while scoped on a target that would help aleviate the problem.
The amount of bullets that fire from your weapon is always very inconsistent online. The same bug plagued the beta to but that was 10 times worse because you couldn't even tell what fire rate you were 'really' in. All of these issues make me question the hit detection all the time. If your gun isnt firing the amount of bullets you think it is, than how do you know the hits are registering consistently?

yea i use full auto but burst is right on so yea both are good bout burst is hard to get use to

this is one of many bugs from socom3 (and a very unforgivable(sp?) one for a military shooter of any kind)

i DO KNOW that many of you have noticed (.... you just have been ignoring/forgiving this) the fact that when you DO set it to burst, or auto, READ: the SOUND of the fired number of bullets DOESNT MATCH the NUMBER OF BULLETS BEING FIRED from the gun

sad but true. (i know youve been forgiving this caz ive been myself)

so if you shoot 1 bullet out of single fire, itll sound LIKE TWO. thats why now when you go trigger-happy with a 30-rounds gun it SOUNDS like a REALLY LONG CLIP. (30 bullets + x2 sound for each bullet = 60 sounds)

try it out yourself. :? :( really bothers when youre not on single when scoped, or whentrying to burst someone, or doing multiple scoped shots cuz it REALLY CONFUSES YOU.

i donno if either this was: (1) made on purpose (sp?) to "help" ... ... with the sound FX of full-auto being fired (can i -or anyone of you- expect this from zipper given the past games and the prestige/distinction of the franchise being the PS2's #1 online game???) or, (2) a bug that slipped in after the last-hour tweaks from the feedback recieved(sp?) by beta testers before game going gold.

if it was #1 it would really water down the prestige/distinction earned by socom ( a game this big cant allow for such nonsense of sound not matching the number of bullets being fired, or was this game never as big as we thought it was? that would be the question if #1 was true, and i dont think zipper should allow this Q to come up)

if it was #2, then i HOPE it can be fixed with next patch

if this was already in the beta and testers didnt report, SHAME ON ALL OF YOU, BETA-TESTERS!

i just hope this can be fixed or we'll have to deal with this annoying bug

yeah fire rates dont match bullets fired, which is a problem. i use a m16, and so many times i tap r1, and it sounds like 3 bullets are being fired. then i look at my ammo and theres still 29/30 bullets remaining, meaning that only 1 bullet has been fired. hopefully this will be fixed in the next patch

the whole sound thing is ridiculous. i dont know how a bug would make two sounds come from 1 shot.

and the burst thing, i know where he's coming from, many games have burst so pressing the trigger once will shoot 3 bullets. those games are retarded
