10 Years
I never thought a band would come out of nowhere and blow me away like "10 Years" did. I am absolutely in love with this band's music, they are a breath of fresh air for me. To describe them, I would say they can be defined as hard rock, or alternative metal. From my own interpretations from their music I can tell they were heavily influenced by Tool. They are currently on tour supporting their new album "The Autumn Effect" which came out earlier this Summer. I have 2 live acoustic videos that you can watch to get a feel for what their music is like. Keep in mind that these are acoustic versions of two of their songs.
This first one, is called "Wasteland" and may have been on the radio depending on where you live. These guys are based out of Knoxville, TN so me being all the way up here in Michigan, I never heard them on the radio. Anyway, this is the first song:

I think that song is freaking awesome! This other song is freaking sweet too. It's called "Through the Iris". Careful now, don't drool on your keyboard like I did!

Now, if you listened to (or should I say watched) those songs, then you should also listen to their electric version of "Wasteland" and "Through the Iris" on their Myspace page, as well as another song off of their newest album called "Prey". Well actually, if you don't like acoustic songs, then go straight to the Myspace page.

Well, tell my what you think. Oh, and please, if you don't like the music then please post a decent answer other than "They suck". Tell me what you don't like about them, and tell me what you do like about them. Those of you that are interested in checking them out, I'd suggest purchasing their album called "The Autumn Effect". It's a great buy, and you won't be dissapointed!

I've heard both their albums since I saw they are on tour with Mudvayne at the moment and I too am always curious of new breeds... they definately have some talent (especially that singer!!) and you put it well saying they're a "breath of fresh air" given that pretty much all new **** these days sux. I can hear the singer's influence from Maynard (singer from Tool), but I'd say the band sounds more along the lines of Deftones, personally. Anywho, the acoustic versions were cool to check out... I think a band's abilities really do shine when "unplugged". All in all, good taste you have there.

I've heard of them for awhile now because i live in northern Alabama and the radio stations have played their songs quite often. Its a cool band and I like most of their music.

Oh, yeah they are alot more like the Deftones. The first time I heard this band, I thought it was Maynard's voice! I was very surprised that this band was good acoustic. Not too many bands these days like to strip down to the acoustics and play. This band seems to sound just as good, if not better on certain songs acoustically. I always seem to appreciate bands that kick *** playing acoustic rather than bands that just play normal electric. That's why I love Alice in Chains alot too. I wish Tool made an acoustic album, it would be difficult, but you know it would rule. Anyways, if you want to see 10 Year's music video for the electric version of "Wasteland", check out this link:
