Hey guys, I just rented Socom 3 from Blockbuster, when I first turn on the game the opening screen only has the option to "setup account" on it. I've tried just to go ahead and do it, I have internet connection and everything, but when it tries to connect to the server, it's almost like it freezes up. I'm just looking to play the single player mode right now but I can't seem to figure out how..lol. On the disc it says public beta v.1 so I'm not sure if this has anything to do with it. Thanks in advance, any advice would be much appreciated.
It probably was a major packaging error on Zipper's part (or whoever puts the discs in the cases). Or, maybe some employees at Blockbuster are screwing around with you. If it says "Public Beta" on it, then you should probably go back to Blockbuster and say something along these lines -
"You charge me $8 to rent a game for a week and I get a beta? What is this? This is a ripoff, just like the rest of this sad excuse for a video store!"

But thats just what I would say...
Or you could not be a flaming horomone-(sp?)-driven 13 year old and just kindely remark that they gave you some sort of Beta instead of the real disk.
It's weird though, the Beta didn't have single player, whatever, return it for a different copy.
